Vinous - Neal Martin (88+)The 2018 Fourcas Hosten confirmed my findings from my in-bottle report. Blackberry and seaweed scents feature on the nose, along with hints of tobacco (perhaps less prominent than before). The palate is medium-bodied with good acidity, and this bottle is suppler than the previous one, with a little more spiciness surfacing toward the finish. Give it 2–3 years in bottle. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (90-92)The 2020 Fourcas Hosten displays very good intensity on a nose of ebullient blackberry, cedar and crushed violet scents that burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins. A slight herbaceous element lends freshness, and white pepper and graphite appear toward the grippy, almost sinewy finish. This is quite a bold Listrac that will require 4–5 years in bottle, but it comes across as cohesive and shows good cellaring potential. |

The palate is medium-bodied with slightly drier tannins than its peers, quite masculine and a little austere but culminating in a pleasant tobacco-tinged finish. Fine. |
