SG$275.00 |
||||
The Wine Independent (92-94)The 2022 Laforge is made from 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. This is the tete de cuvee of Teyssier, mainly a selection of the best parcels. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs a little swirling to unlock notes of boysenberry preserves, baked plums, and raspberry leaves, followed by suggestions of smoked meats, cumin seed, garrigue, and black olives. The medium to full-bodied palate has beautifully ripe fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness supporting the elegant fruit layers, finishing long and fragrant. pH 3.73. |

SG$738.00 |

Jeb Dunnuck (98-100)Tasted on multiple occasions and one of the legendary wines in the making from this vintage, the 2022 Château Larcis Ducasse clocks in as 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc that's still resting in 55% new French oak. A hypothetical blend of the 2005 and 2018, it's a deep, powerful, opulent Saint-Emilion offering an incredible array of black cherries, blackberries, smoked tobacco, chocolate, and graphite-driven aromas and flavors. With a rich, full-bodied, expansive mouthfeel, it has ultra-fine tannins, beautiful symmetry in its tannins, acidity, and fruit, no hard edges, and a killer finish. I was lucky enough to taste this on four separate occasions and I thought it had the potential to be a perfect wine every time. |

The Wine Independent (92-94)Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2022 Larmande prances out with fragrant notions of rose hip tea, juicy black plums, and kirsch, giving way to wafts of cinnamon toast and Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft and juicy with perfumed red and black fruit preserves and a long, fragrant finish. Nicely done! |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (97)You just know that this estate is well placed to succeed in the vintage, and this really does walk the line of ripeness and salinity, such gorgeous definition and vivid energetic fruit. Stretches out through the palate also, has a relaxed confidece to it that is quite unusual in such a full--on vintage. Really impressive, Beaumartin family, David Suire director. |

|
Bordeaux | - | 95 (JA) |

SG$252.00 |
||||
Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (95)Beautifully fresh aromatics, this is a big wine, full of depth and velvety plush texture, rich mouthfeel through the mid palate, with a mix of red and black fruits along with mandarin peel and pomegranate that add freshness. Careful precision, juicy expression of the fruit, this draws out through the palate with sappy tannins and a touch of astringency on the finish. The viticulture, as you would expect here, was precise and informed by their long experience in California, no trimming, with high canopy for the shading, with as little interference as possible (they say 'don't demand too much of the vine in these kind of vintages'). 38hl/h yields, helped by vines with an average age of 60 years, 65% new oak, 15 different forests, 24ha estate. No added acidity. 20th anniversary vintage of the Seillan and Jackson family at Lassegue, first year as Grand Cru ClassŽ. 3.67ph, harvest 15 to October1. Nicolas Seillan now director. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94-96)The 2022 Le Prieuré is another magnificent wine from one of Saint-Émilion’s most under the radar properties. Dark blue/purplish fruit, gravel, spice, menthol and lavender are all finely delineated. As always, Le Prieuré is a wine of cool sophistication and finesse. Clean mineral notes extend the finish effortlessly. Superb. |
