Experience the exquisite Vollrads Rheingau Riesling Auslese 2019, a masterpiece from one of Rheingau’s most esteemed estates. Crafted in the heart of Germany’s premier Riesling region, Vollrads meticulously selects only the ripest grapes from its venerable vineyards along the Rhine River. Wine Advocate (94-95)Predominantly vinified in classic foudres, the 2021 Graacher Domprobst Spätlese is clear, deep, coolish and flinty on the nose, yet it's provided with a fully ripe and aromatic nose of yellow-fleshed stone fruits intertwined with notes of crushed, wet slate. Lush and elegant on the palate, this is a linear, saline and tensioned Spätlese with slate/tannin grip and the aromas of fully ripe and juicy red-skinned apples and lemons. 8.5% stated alcohol. Tasted as a sample in July 2022. |

Wine Advocate (94-95)From 80- to 100-year-old vines, the 2021 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese Rotlay is deep, pure and flinty on the aromatic and rather coolish, elegant nose that shows ripe white peach aromas intertwined with spicy notes of crushed blue slate. Full-bodied, pure and saline on the palate, this is a rich yet crystalline and piquant rather than textured Riesling with fine tannins and still some yeasty layers and a certain grapefruit bitterness on the finish. Tasted as a sample at the domaine in July 2022. |

Wine Advocate (99+)Fermented in glass balloon for 22 months and bottled at the end of August this year, the 2018 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese is highly concentrated yet pure and spicy/stony on the apricot-scented nose that is enormously detailed and refined for this class. Enormously rich and juicy-piquant on the palate, this is a fantastically precise and stimulating TBA that will become a legend years from now. This is a perfectly balanced noble sweet wine with unreal precision. Picked with 201° Oechsle and bottled with nearly 7% alcohol, 318 grams of residual sugar and 11.5 grams of total acidity. Tasted from AP 22 20 in September 2020. |

Wine Advocate (98)One year after release, the 2020 Vogelsang Grosse Lage sourced from my private cellar opens with a delicate and subtle bouquet of ripe yet refined Riesling and savory flinty notes of crushed gray and red slate. It is very subtle and harmonious, and despite its natural ripeness, it is also precise, detailed and very well articulated. Very intense and rich on the palate, this is a generous and very complex yet crystalline and thus refined and elegant Vogelsang Riesling with a long, intense and super complex finish. It's deeper, finer and richer than the 2021, as well as more intense, and its finish is very long, physical, intense and saline. If I am not at 100/100 today, this is because I know it will improve and refine from here over the years in the bottle. It has a very long and stimulating finish with so much on board that you think it can never get old. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in September 2024. |
