It has a really beautiful bouquet that you could easily mistake for Christophe Roumier’s: blackberry, blueberry, a hint of crushed violet and fine mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of fine-grain tannin, the new oak perfectly sutured into the black and blue fruit with superb delineation and focus towards the silky smooth finish. This is one of the best 2016s Bonnes-Mares that I have tasted, if not the best. |

The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, taut and fresh, quite saline, like others, maybe missing the usual flamboyance and opulence on the finish, yet that is articulating the style of the growing season. I can see this gaining more weight after its final racking. |

The palate is bold and forthright with sappy black fruit, a nice saline touch in the mouth with a controlled, quite citrus-fresh finish. This is a Bourgogne Rouge with substance and in keeping with Groffier's upfront style. |
