(a blend of five domain parcels; aging in barriques, 10% new): Slightly green-tinged yellow. Lively scents of lemon, lime and white peach lifted by exhilarating notes of white pepper and flowers. Ripe and sweet but penetrating too, with its concentrated flavors of apple and pear enlivened by saline minerality. This very well-balanced village wine finishes tactile and persistent. (from a 1965 planting; picked near the end, on September 8; aging in 10% new oak): Bright medium yellow. Yellow peach, mirabelle and spices on the nose, with complicating notes of hazelnut and mint. Quite rich in the mouth, showing some spicy oak; the closest to exotic of these 2017s to this point and without quite the tension or energy of the preceding samples. Not a mineral style.
