The Guy Roulot Bourgogne Aligote 2022 is a symptomatic presentation of impeccable quality and sophisticated charm from the renowned producer Jean-Marc Roulot. This esteemed wine-maker took over his father's estate in Meursault, Burgundy, in 1989, perpetuating a legacy of unparalleled excellence. Revered for his meticulous approach, Jean-Marc carefully nurtures his low-yielding vines, allowing the grape's essence to commune with the area's limestone-rich soils. After precise harvesting, Roulot conducts gentle pressing and natural fermentation in oak barrels, instilling a distinct aromatic complexity into the Guy Roulot Bourgogne Aligote 2022. This vivacious white wine teases the palate with crisp apple and citrus notes, balanced elegantly by an intense minerality. Its lean body, complemented by a subtle creaminess, conjures a lingering grace in every sip. This layered complexity is quintessential of the Chardonnay's lesser-known, but no less distinguished, Aligote sibling. The Guy Roulot Bourgogne Aligote 2022 treats connoisseurs to a pure, unadorned expression of Burgundy's opulence, asserting its undeniable place in the realm of fine wine. |

Vinous (86)The 2019 Bourgogne Blanc has a light but pretty nose with green apple, grass clippings and pear. The palate is well balanced, quite pithy for a Bourgogne Blanc, with good weight on the finish. A decent Bourgogne Blanc that should drink well for 3-5 years. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot (spelled with an “s” not “z”!) comes from two parcels. It has a scintillating, vibrant mineral-driven bouquet stylistically equidistant between Puligny and Meursault. The palate is extremely well-balanced with immense precision, starting off with real race and drive and then easing back toward the finish that offers just a touch of spice. This is another superb Meursault ‘11 from Jean-Marc. Drink now-2025. |

Vinous (94)The 1999 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru from Jean-Marc Roulot is poured from magnum. Silvery in hue and showing little age, it has a precise, Puligny-like bouquet with subtle scents of dandelion and wet stone. The terroir really shines through here. The palate is very saline on the entry that gets the taste-buds flowing, just a hint of crème brûlée and lemon peel furnishing the clean and precise finish. I suspect that the larger format here renders this a little more youthful than in bottle, but it is still an outstanding Meursault from Roulot, one that has many years ahead. Tasted at Taillevent restaurant in Paris. |

Vinous (94)The 2010 Meursault Perrières wraps around the palate with huge, seamless layers of fruit. It boasts stunning textural depth and pure richness from start to finish. There is so much sheer intensity of the fruit that the minerality appears virtually hidden. Although the density of the fruit is impressive, this isn't a particularly elegant or refined Perrières by Roulot standards, at least not today. Roulot explains that the Perrières was the last of his wines to finish its malolactic fermentation. In my view it is a bit heavy, although the truth is that most growers would kill to have a wine like this in their cellars. |
