Vinous (91)The 2020 Mâcon-Chardonnay Clos de la Crochette has a wonderful bouquet with fine delineation and touches of crushed rock filtering through the malic fruit. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Somehow playful, this is a joyful Mâconnais wine with a long saline finish. Closure: Diam. |

Burghound (89)Here the nose is dominated by smoky reduction and only hints of citrus rind are perceptible so give this some air first. The sleek, precise and intense middle weight flavors brim with minerality that adds a sense of lift to the highly refreshing, very dry and notably more complex finale. This is excellent for what it is and warmly recommended. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2023 Mâcon-Chardonnay Clos de la Crochette has one of the best aromatics of the range: crushed stone, sea cave and light Granny Smith scents with good focus. The palate is well balanced with a crisp entry. This has fine weight and density but is more backward and perhaps befits a couple of years in bottle. |

Burghound (88)An even fresher nose freely offers up its array of green apple, plenty of citrus elements and a hint of mineral reduction. The racy, detailed and sleek medium weight flavors are wonderfully refreshing but not quite as complex on the stony, bone-dry and lightly austere finale. A year or two of cellaring should help to add depth. |

The Hospices de Beaune Pouilly Fuisse Cuvee Francoise Poisard 2014 is a quintessential expression of French Chardonnay of distinction. This exquisite wine originates from the famed vineyards of Pouilly Fuisse within the prestigious Maconnais region of Burgundy. Managed by the historic Hospices de Beaune, whose viticultural excellence dates back to the 15th century, this wine bears the name of its benefactor, Madame Françoise Poisard. The 2014 vintage, made under the meticulous supervision of celebrated winemaker, Ludivine Griveau, enjoyed an extended fermentation with full malolactic conversion in oak barrels. The outcome is a wine imbued with an intricate palette of aromas, from delicate white flowers to ripe orchard fruits. On the palate, gentle hints of oak intertwine with the vibrant freshness of Chardonnay to produce an irresistible complexity and length. Indulge in the Hospices de Beaune Pouilly Fuisse Cuvee Francoise Poisard 2014 for an authentic taste of Burgundian sophistication. |

Vinous (93)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Macherelles 1er Cru comes from red clay soils planted in 1988. This is cut from a different cloth to Lamy's Saint-Aubins: chamomile, white tea and light hazelnuts, almost Meursault-like in style. The palate is tensile on the entry, with fine bitter lemon notes intermixed with peach skin and stem ginger that give the final third an additional dimension. Quite persistent, this is a very serious Chassagne that should age with style. |

Vinous (89-91)The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Concis de Champs had wild variations in potential alcohol and acidity levels, caused by differing rootstocks, vine ages, pruning techniques, etc., that made it difficult for Olivier Lamy to pick. This has a bright red apple and lime bouquet that feels well defined. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and very pure. A lovely touch of bitter lemon enlivens and lends edge on the finish. Excellent. |
