Experience the elegance of the Armand Heitz Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres 2022, a quintessential expression from the heart of Burgundy. Cultivated in the esteemed Perrières vineyard, this Chardonnay exhibits the meticulous craftsmanship synonymous with Armand Heitz. Hand-harvested from biodynamically managed vines, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel vats, preserving their pure fruit character. The wine is then aged for twelve months in French oak barrels, imparting subtle complexity and a refined texture. On the nose, it reveals vibrant notes of ripe citrus, white peach, and a hint of almond, leading to a rich, mineral-driven palate with a lingering finish. This 2022 vintage exemplifies balance and finesse, showcasing the unique terroir of Meursault and the unwavering dedication of Armand Heitz. Ideal for pairing with seafood or poultry, it promises a memorable addition to any fine wine collection.

Superripe aromas of dried fruits complicated by white flowers and a peppery nuance. Tasted blind, this was an exceptional showing for Ente's 2015 Meursault 1er Cru La Goutte d'Or, a beautiful wine that offers up a youthfully reserved bouquet of iodine, citrus oil and white flowers. On the palate, this Goutte d'Or is full-bodied, ample and layered, with terrific cut, concentration and length, its tension and vivacity lending it considerable drama despite its reticence in other respects.Inc. 5 Star Wine. Very pale colour. Hyper elegant nose, impressive nervous tension, despite 13.3 alcohol and 3.15 pH, really lively, white fruit – this vineyard is really coming into its own since the vines hit 20 years old. A little touch of barrel; biscuit, but the wine is really together, beautiful texture and stretches out exceptionally well across a very long finish. Tasted: September 2018.Inc. GSTSG$13,374.80 -

The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Les Gouttes d'Or mingles aromas of pear and Meyer lemon with hints of toasted almond, white flowers and fresh bread. Green-tinged color. Complex aromas of lime, smoke, nut oil and charry oak. Densely packed and intensely flavored, with a strong lemony component and brisk acids making it almost painful in the mouth. But this has much more middle-palate flesh to support its firm structure than the comparatively bony regular bottling from Ormeau.Inc. GSTSG$1,240.69 -
Vinous (89)
Subdued, pure aromas of citrus fruits and flowers. Supple, round and pure, with sweet stone fruit flavors that avoid coming off as exotic. Full, concentrated village wine with moderate complexity and good grip. (I found the 2006 Bourgogne Blanc to be pure but almost exotically ripe for a wine from Ente; the atypical sweetness of the 2006 vintage appears to have favored his Aligote.)Inc. GSTSG$1,306.89 -
(2x75cl) 2012Vinous (90)
Pale yellow. Musky yellow fruits and gingery spices on the nose. Ripe and silky, with harmonious acidity framing the sweet peach and nutmeg flavors. A rich village wine, particularly in the context of this cellar, but I like its cut and balance. Underlying lemon and crushed stone flavors give the finish a slight youthful aggressiveness that calls for a year or two of patience. The crop level was 22 hectoliters per hectare in these parcels. Incidentally, Ente describes 2012 as a good year but a bit too rich and thick; he compared it to 2007 and 2008 in quality, adding that the '08s also had too much thickness. (But take advantage of Ente's atypically rich and concentrated 2012 Bourgogne Blanc if you spot a bottle, as this wine, made from parcels in Meursault and Puligny, will be easier to drink at the outset. I rated it 88 points.)Inc. GSTSG$3,673.08 -

The 2013 Meursault Village shows just a small reduction on the nose with light grapefruit, beeswax and pressed white flower scents emerging with time. I admire the delineation here. There is a superb line of acidity that runs straight through this Meursault, spicier than I anticipated yet still youthful with veins of lime on the aftertaste. Superb. The 2014 Meursault Clos des Ambres has a killer reduction on the nose with intense mineralité. It almost shocks the senses. The palate is fresh and vivacious, so penetrating and razor-sharp that you might think it is a Grand Cru. The energy just bursts through on the finish. In fact, this ends up with my highest score in a tough blind tasting. I can understand why people pay top dollar. Tasted a the New World/Old World Chardonnay Challenge in London. In BondSG$2,995.00 -

You may raise an eyebrow at my score, but this note was taken under blind conditions where it could have been a Chardonnay from anywhere in the world. The 2015 Meursault Clos des Ambres from Arnaud Ente is brilliant. Fresh and vibrant on the nose, with light touches of sea spray, this is tight and focused, just like the ’14. The palate has real mineral drive, quite Puligny-like in terms of its malic finish and flinty aftertaste. Whilst secondary market prices have been insane, there is no doubting the calibre of this Meursault. Tasted at the 05/15 Burgundy dinner in The Good Earth. In BondSG$2,470.00 -

The 2017 Meursault Clos des Ambres is also showing very well from bottle, opening in the glass with notes of green pear, oatmeal, dried white flowers and a hint of youthful reduction that dissipates with aeration. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, multidimensional and textural, with an enveloping attack that segues into a deep, muscular core, concluding with a racy finish. In BondSG$2,725.00 -

A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle. In BondSG$2,750.00
