Bright yellow. The nose suggests a wine with terrific inner-mouth tension: yellow peach, white flowers, menthol, minerals and crushed rock. Fatter than the Vergers in the mouth, with a seductive orange zest sweetness throughout, but kept firm and bright by piquant minerality. Quite tight on the long, aromatic back end. More austere than the Vergers, and not showing the early balance of that wine.Inc. GSTSG$1,535.22 -

The 2012 Criots-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from the family’s one-third hectare holding planted between the 1930s and 1990s. It was picked the same day as the premier crus and Celine told me that it always has a slightly higher degree of alcohol. It has an entrancing bouquet with perfumed apricot, peach and dried citrus peel notes infused with minerals – feminine and seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded, powerful, spicy opening. It is very well balanced, very concentrated on the finish. This is compelling like so many from this under-rated grand cru vineyard, though there are just four barrels instead of the usual eight in this year.Inc. GSTSG$4,494.57 -

The 2013 Criots Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru has an intense and mineral bouquet that soars – touches of white peach and apricot blossom gently drifting from the glass, flecks of chalk and even white chocolate. Hailing from the renowned Burgundy region of France, the Jean-Marc Blain-Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint Jean Blanc 2016 is a paragon of white wine distinction. Sourced from 60-year-old vine stock, the grape is handled meticulously, undergoing malolactic fermentation in barrel followed by up to 12 months of aging.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain displays a pretty bouquet of yellow apple, white flowers, pastry cream and beeswax. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny but incisive, with chalky extract, tangy acids and a long, beautifully delineated finish. It's another wonderfully balanced premier cru from Thierry Pillot. In BondSG$1,890.00 -
(6x75cl) 2017Vinous (89-91)
(from 60- and 35-year-old vines): Bright yellow with a green tinge. Sexy sulfidey complexity to the stone fruit aromas. In a distinctly supple style and the most feminine of the '17s I tasted at Ramonet, conveying lovely sweetness and purity. Terrific fat fruit here, not to mention enticing early balance. In BondSG$3,390.00 -
(6x75cl) 2016Wine Advocate (94+)
The 2016 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes is superb, wafting from the glass with aromas of Anjou pear, iodine, tangerine oil and wet stones, subtly framed by a delicate touch of new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with excellent concentration, incisive acids and a long, precise finish. This is more old-fashioned than the 2014 rendition, and if that wine resembles the domaine's 2010, this has more affinities with the 2008.In BondSG$6,010.00
