Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-96)3 barrels made. Vibrant purple with a little touch of whole bunch character. Very gracious soft dense dark fruit on the palate, the tannins are very fine here, which is not the case for every Bonnes Mares in 2018. This has been well judged. |

Vinous (95)The 2020 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, which comprises of just two barrels this year, has a highly-perfumed and precise bouquet that is actually reminiscent of Christophe Roumier's Bonnes-Mares. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins that frame the multi-layered fruit. Fine grip, structured, saline and aristocratic on the finish. This will need time but will most certainly be worth the wait. |

Vinous (92-95)Tangy aromas of rose petal, spices and coffee. Wonderfully silky on entry, then precise and refined in the mid-palate, with subtly complex flavors of wild berries, herbs and mocha. Less obviously sweet and even more reserved than the Bonnes-Mares, but with a finer grain to its texture and tannins. Finishes very ripe and very long. Has all the elements to make an outstanding bottle. |

Burghound (93)Much like the Musigny, this is really beautifully spicy but here there are intense earth and sauvage undertones to the mostly wild red berry fruit scents. There is excellent volume and plenty of minerality to the focused, energetic and overtly powerful large-scaled flavors that culminate in an austere finish that displays noticeable gas which accentuates the firmness of the tannins. Even so, this is clearly a long-distance runner and like the Griotte, I would strongly advise buying this only with the intent to cellar it for at least a decade. |

Wine Advocate (96-98)The 2015 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is a class act in the making, perhaps one of the finest barrel samples that I have tasted from Drouhin. This gem has a gorgeous and extraordinarily pure bouquet with crushed strawberry, pomegranate and overripe orange scents that are exquisite and beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with super fine, almost filigree tannin that seem to caress the senses. It constitutes the most sophisticated of Drouhin's 2015s with ineffable finesse on the finish that lingers so long in the mouth. This is simply a brilliant wine. |

Jancis Robinson (18.5)Picked 8–11 September. High percentage of whole bunch – 40%. 'I had a crush on this wine this year', says Véronique Drouhin. Cask sample. Mid crimson. So pretty: red fruits, a stemmy freshness that is leafy but in a lovely way, not at all underripe. Fabulous depth and length but with an elegant shape, not exactly slim but perfectly proportioned, like the body of a yoga expert, sinewy and strong but not lean. Savoury with a marked oak flavour on the finish at the moment and a long peppery aftertaste. |

James Suckling (96)Perfectly ripe strawberries with raspberry and citrus undertones. It’s medium-to full-bodied with really fine tannins that are nicely wrapped in ripe fruit. There’s a savory, lightly meaty highlight to the flavors. It’s long and complex in the finish. Really balanced and attractive now, but will deliver even more in the future. Better after 2023. |

Jancis Robinson (18)Mix of domaine and non-domaine fruit is fermented in oak. Over 40% whole bunch. Delicate extraction. Final blend in tank, to be bottled by mid February 2021. Very sweet, red-cherry nose and gorgeous sweet palate entry. Such a charmer! Almost irresistible. Vibrates on the palate on the sweet rather than majestic side but there is excellent freshness too. I may drink up the rest tonight! It may seem strange to suggest that a Chambertin-Clos de Bèze might be drinkable at only six years old but this is such a charmer... |

Tim Atkin MW (97)Two parcels sitting next to one another on the northern side and up the slope go into this wine. One is the domaine's and the other is purchased. They total a mere 0.13 hectares. Still, the Drouhins only began combining the cuvées about ten years ago. This is a gorgeous Clos de Bèze with intense blackberry and black plum fruit, smoky minerality and salted chocolate. Finely toned and muscular – like a ballet dancer, not a rugby player, this has sculpted tannins and lively acidity. The last notes feel like taffeta on the palate. Drink 2025–2042. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru is more backward than the Griotte, almost introspective with dark berry fruit, tobacco and tertiary scents. Just a touch of spice emerges with time. The palate displays very fine structure, good backbone, quite peppery towards the finish with a long tail. Whilst not as gregarious as the Griotte, this has a simmering intensity that I appreciate. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)From the usual sources, their own and a regular contributor, vinified in barrel with minimal extraction. Now that they can pick the other part when they want, you no longer see two different wines in one. It certainly shows very gracefully on the nose. Much more harmonious, a little touch of liquorice along with ripe strawberry, a pleasing tingle to liven up the finish., very graceful, very persistent. Drink from 2032-2040. |

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (92)(from owned and purchased grapes; tasted from tank) Good deep red. Cool, subdued aromas of medicinal dark fruits, spices and mint. Sweet and pliant on entry, with licorice and mint flavors, then firm mineral-driven acidity energizes the back half and extends the finish. Finishes with good palate-saturating breadth and suave tannins. This seems ready to bottle. |

Vinous (93)The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has an open nose of brambly red fruit, sous-bois and wilted rose petals, very pure and charming, and not dissimilar in style to François Bertheau's Chambolle 1er Cru. The palate is very harmonious, open and transparent. It feels lighter than others, yet the tension and precision will see this age with style, and perhaps it will not close down. Tempting now, but I would prefer to wait. Classy. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Decanter (95)This is a classic 'cuvée ronde', combining fruit from six different Premiers Crus to produce a stylish example of what Véronique Drouhin calls the 'cashmere of Burgundy'. Scented, balanced and ethereal, it's a transparent expression of Chambolle's range of terroirs, with sweet summer berry flavours and fine, velvety tannins. Accomplished stuff. |
