Vinous (91-94)(a domain wine): Pale, bright yellow. Oily peach nectar, hazelnut oil and Poire William on the nose and in the mouth. Round and plush but with a firm dusting of stony minerality energizing the middle palate. Manages to be both voluptuous and chewy, giving the wine striking precision for its size. The superb, slowly mounting finish is subtle and long. These 48-year-old vines produced just 35 hectoliters per hectare, due in part to some millerandage. |

On the palate there is a wealth of ripe citrus, with the start of some yellow peaches, but the stones definitely dominate. Slightly two-speed at the moment, but should pull together by the end of its elevage. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2024. |

The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors possess the same refined mouth feel telegraphed by the nose before concluding in a clean, dry, long and seriously complex finish. Like the Combettes this is very classy and immaculately well-balance finale. A classic Pucelles. |

Burghound (91)Outstanding Moderate reduction is enough to push the underlying fruit to the background. By contrast, there is excellent freshness and intensity to the solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract while delivering impressive length on the balanced, youthfully austere and citrus-tinged finale. This is a really good Puligny villages and even though it's more powerful than usual, it remains stylish and refined. One to buy plus it should age gracefully. |

A light biscuity touch alongside a properly floral bouquet, this is remarkably stylish while evidently also suggesting full ripeness. Several waves of flavour with the fruit becoming ever fresher the further back it goes, finishing on a very pure white fruit, scarcely marked by the oak at all. A brilliant village Puligny. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted: December 2023. |

Unfurling in the glass with a deep bouquet of wild berries, plums, raw cocoa and sweet soil tones, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, its concentrated core of vibrant fruit underlined by succulent acids and framed by chalky tannins. This is a brilliant wine that's worth a special effort to seek out. |

The wood shows a bit at the moment though he has used less in his red wines this year. Will settle down. Just a touch soapy at the moment, but all the indications are of a grand vin. Brooding aromas of blueberry, blackberry and menthol; lots of tiny millerandé berries here. Silky and saline on the palate; deeper than the Santenots but showing less sex appeal and early juiciness to its flavors of dark berries, spices and menthol. But this is chewier and more concentrated and a bit more important on the finish. |

Vinous (91-93)(from four parcels of vines between 40 and 60 years of age; fruit in the lower section of the vineyard was wiped out by the frost): Healthy medium red. Slightly reduced nose conveys and medicinal dark raspberry aroma. Then fine-grained and graceful in the mouth, conveying an impression of delicacy to the flavors of raspberry, currant and flowers. Finishes quite suave and long, with very refined tannins. The Boillots made just 10 barrels in place of a normal 30, 3 of them new. |

The palate is medium-bodied, quite grippy and a little drier than its peers, with a slightly bitter, granular finish. It meliorates in the glass and leaves a pleasant spicy aftertaste. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Heady, intense, perfectly judged raspberry. This is spectacular. Not over the top, ripe tannins, just the right point of acidity, and excellent persistence. Guillaume speaks of delicacy and I can see what he means despite the Boillot style which is too intense to be designated delicate. Tasted: 10/1/2021 |
