Vinous (94)The 2010 Chablis Mont de Milieu has turned out beautifully. A gentle hint of spices from the oak frames layers of gorgeous, nuanced fruit. The 2010 shows the depth of the low yields with the minerality of a cool vintage and a finish is both huge and seemingly endless. It is a marvelous, complete wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared. This is a great showing from Samuel Billaud. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93)5 Star Wine. Bottled November. Clear mid lemon. The nose is stricter than the 2023, more a classic Vaillons, with mineral purity, white fruit, plenty of flesh but nicely balanced by the lees work. Very long finish here, an exceptionally fine Vaillons. The aftertaste just keeps on delivering. Drink from 2027-2035. Tasted Jun 2024. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2021 Chablis Les Fourneaux 1er Cru has a superb bouquet with scents of dried honey, wax resin and flinty aromas, powerful and very well focused. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, lovely salinity lending tension and persistence on the finish. As good a Fourneaux as you will find. |

Vinous (90)The 2019 Meursault Les Vireuils has a pretty bouquet with orchard fruit, hints of apricot and just a touch of almond coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with an edgy opening, quite sharp at first, orange zest and a touch of tangerine. A citric finish just needs a little more length. This will develop with bottle age but I would afford it 3 to 4 years in the cellar. |

Burghound (92-95)(from vines planted in 1955). A strikingly elegant if restrained nose is comprised by notes of red and dark currant, forest floor, exotic tea and an abundance of floral hints. There is both fine intensity and an almost aggressive minerality to the chiseled medium-bodied flavors that possess an appealing texture before concluding in a moderately austere and refreshing finish that also displays just a touch of warmth. This is a very classy wine that should also amply repay mid to longer-term keeping. |

Vinous (94+)The 2017 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is very stubborn and closed on the nose, then opens wonderfully to offer red cherries, wild strawberry and pomegranate scents, but frustratingly, it ebbs away with further aeration. Very mercurial. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and fine depth and grip, delivering admirable precision on the finish. It will need a few years to settle down, but it should come good in the end. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Wine Advocate (94)Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very composed bouquet with fine delineation, bright redcurrant and cranberry fruit, later hints of dried blood and potpourri. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, gentle and yet harmonious with gorgeous mulberry and red plum fruit, underneath which lies very fine mineralité. With great length to boot, this is an excellent Latricières from Rossignol-Trapet. Tasted September 2016. |
