One of the highlights in this range, the 2015 Beaune Les Avaux is sleek and expressive. Sweet red cherry, plum, mint and a kiss of new French oak give the wine its super-appealing, inviting personality. Camille Giroud's 2015 Chambertin is seamless, rich and inviting. Dark cherry, crème de cassis, menthol, licorice, sage and lavender give the wine much of its regal aristocratic bearing, There is something absolutely impeccable about the way all the elements fall into place here. The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin is a soft-open knit wine with mid-weight structure and good overall persistence. This is the only wine in the range I tasted from tank. Perhaps for that reason, the Charmes is a bit reticent. It will be interesting to see if the wine gains more volume. The decision to move this wine into tank and bottle it early, suggests it may not have the depth of the best wines in the range. - Antonio GalloniInc. GSTSG$1,536.25 -

The 2015 Clos de Vougeot is an impressive wine. Huge tannins give the 2015 much of its shape and sense of direction. Plum, crème de cassis, chocolate and lavender all develop in the glass. Ample and powerful in construction, the 2015 possesses very good depth, even if it can't match the pedigree of the Chambertin. This is another wine with a late malo. The 2015 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru is a magical wine in the making, opening in the glass with a deep and brooding bouquet of cherries, plum preserve, espresso roast, rich soil, dark chocolate and dried rose petals. On the palate, the wine is incredibly complete and multidimensional, with an ample chassis of fine-grained, chalky tannins, a bright line of acidity, and immense concentration and length. More deep and layered than the Corton Bressandes, this Clos du Roi is also finer-boned and more mineral, its aromas and flavors less wild and sauvage, and while the wine's considerable structure will demand a decade of bottle age, this will be a benchmark Corton in the fullness of time.Inc. The 2015 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a pastille-like purity on the nose, but not quite the complexity and focus of its peers. Lush strawberry and raspberry coulis scents are backed by hints of blueberry and violet. The richness bestowed by the growing season seems to usurp terroir expression in this instance. The glossy palate is medium-bodied and satiny in texture, with supple tannin and some quality new oak splashed all over, but perhaps that is masking a lack of complexity and terroir expression on the prune-tinged finish. Cecile Tremblay, granddaughter of the acclaimed Edouard Jayer, brings forth her unwavering commitment to biodynamic winegrowing in this fine vintage.
The hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes from old vines bestow this wine with rich, complex flavours. Sustainably grown, meticulously selected grapes undergo natural fermentation in wooden vats. Aged in finely-grained French oak barrels, the wine boasts a tantalising balance of fruit-forward notes, and elegant new oak infusion. With its solid structure, this Cecile Tremblay Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Beaumonts 2015 offers a distinctive depth of character and a promising ageing potential. Swirling with its refined elegance, it’s a magnificence meant to roseate every celebration.

More deep and layered than the Corton Bressandes, this Clos du Roi is also finer-boned and more mineral, its aromas and flavors less wild and sauvage, and while the wine's considerable structure will demand a decade of bottle age, this will be a benchmark Corton in the fullness of time.In BondSG$2,065.00 -

From vines planted in the 1950s, the 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières is a one of the highlights of the range this year, wafting from the glass with a fragrant and projected bouquet of orange rind, potpourri, plum, raspberry and incipient forest floor. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety and sapid, with a rich attack, succulent acids, an ample chassis of fine-grained tannins and a long, saline finish. A superb Lavières that has yet to shut down.In BondSG$136.00 -

Cask sample. Mid dark crimson. Sweet oak spice entwined with really ripe cherry fruit. Dark, dry finesse on the palate. Extremely elegant but all hidden at the moment. Plenty of freshness like a seam through the dark, dry youthful reticence. In BondSG$2,320.00 -

Time will tell. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. In BondSG$1,155.00 -

The 2015 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a bold, generous bouquet of blackberry and raspberry fruit, but lacks the delineation of Jean Trapet's own Latricières. The palate is medium-bodied, offering sappy black fruit and impressive substance but not quite delivering in terms of finesse and elegance on the blocky finish and falling short of my estimation in barrel. Give this five years in bottle to shave its edges. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. In BondSG$1,120.00 -

Silky tannins and floral aromatics make a strong first impression in the 2015 Chapelle-Chambertin, one of the more delicate of the Grand Crus in the range. Sweet red cherry, mint, spice, pomegranate and wild flowers add to the wine's sensual personality. In BondSG$2,260.00 -

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Fontenys is powerful and also surprisingly tightly wound for the vintage. There is no shortage of power or mineral drive, that much is certain. If anything, the 2015 comes across as a bit compact. A spine of tannins give the wine its energy, expressive red stone fruit, pomegranate, red cherry and floral notes that start to emerge with time. Far from an easygoing 2015, the Fontenys is likely to require a bit of time to be at its very best.In BondSG$1,195.00
We found the wines in 2015 very easy and forward to taste, with as much focus on freshness as concentration, so there wasn’t a complete break from the 2014s in that sense. The hope is that as the wines mature they will continue to show the balance and classicism they displayed from the barrel. Our expectation is that they will do so and the best wines will live for a very long time with a genuinely satisfying pattern of maturation throughout their life.
