Subtle nose, impeccably fresh but lacking the nutty complexity normally associated with the appellation. Having said that, there is an incredibly dense palate and long, concentrated fruit which should age for a long time. Judging from their other 2015s, this will be magnificent - but it needs time to get there.Inc. GSTSG$2,076.01 -

There is a whisper of the exotic to the riper aromas that also possess admirable purity if noticeably less elegance. The succulent, powerful and dense big-bodied flavors once again coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the balanced and harmonious finale. While this isn't an elegant wine per se (Criots rarely is), it is more refined than it usually is.Inc. GSTSG$5,381.79 -

(Boillot picked this fruit first in 2015, as acidity levels can quickly plunge on this hot calcaire soil): Subdued musky aromas of stone fruits and hazelnut. A fat, oily bomb of stone fruits on the palate, but this thick, silky wine is framed and lifted on the very long back end by dusty stone.Inc. GSTSG$611.27 -

The 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets Saint Georges is—like the Vaucrains—already beginning to shut down, gradually unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis, currant leaf, rich spice and raw cocoa. On the palate, the wine's fine-grained tannins take center stage for the moment, but its depth, concentration and energy are all very promising: the only missing ingredient is time.Inc. The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges took three or four minutes to unfold...but what a bouquet! Copious black cherry, cranberry jus, pomegranate and bergamot scents all infused with stupendous mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannin, plenty of blood orange infusing the red and black fruit, a keen line of acidity and a gentle grip towards the finish. It constitutes one of the best vintages that I have tasted in recent years. It should be considered a stunning victory for the 2015 vintage, but without wishing to sound like a broken record, please cellar this for 5-7 years for it to attain its drinking plateau.Inc. (aged in 25% new oak): Bright medium red. Subdued nose shows more red than black fruits, along with complicating notes of spices and red licorice. Wonderfully sweet, spicy and rich, with enough juiciness to give balance and early personality to the tactile, juicy flavors of raspberry, minerals and spices. Very sexy and suave on the long if somewhat youthfully imploded finish. This complete premier cru should last for a long time in a cool cellar. Despite the fact that the Gouges family picked very early in 2015, Antoine Gouges describes the wines as very ripe but not quite candied or overripe, with the structure for a long life in bottle. He added that the estate's '15s were bottled with around 13% alcohol.Inc. GSTSG$227.35 -

Gouges noted that in 2015 the blend for this wine contains 40% from the 1er Chênes Carteaux so that there could be sufficient volume for their various markets. A background application of wood frames a similar if more complex and elegant array of ripe aromas. The sleek, round and delicious medium-bodied flavors possess lovely definition before terminating in a saline-inflected finish that is notably finer than it usually is. This offers simply terrific quality for its level and is highly recommended.Inc. GSTSG$680.71 -

The 2015 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru was aged in 50% new oak. Well-defined scents of mulberry and strawberry emerge on the nose, with candied orange peel and tangerine emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet, Grenache-like entry. This is a little heady, maybe, and perhaps it feels a little too sweet on the finish. Nonetheless, there is plenty of enjoyment to be found here.Inc. GSTSG$2,096.57 -

Bright, dark ruby-red. Very pure, vibrant aromas of kirsch, blackberry, licorice and cocoa powder. Strongly mineral-driven on the palate but not aggressive, with concentrated dark fruit and saline flavors complemented but not overshadowed by the 100% oak. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely floral persistence. Gilles Jayer told me that this climat on thin soil over rock belongs entirely to him and to Domaine Machard de Gramont and really merits premier cru classification. The nuanced palate is very well balanced and precise in style, displaying a fine bead of acidity and a gorgeous, lightly spiced, edgy, sappy finish that urges you back for another sip. Pale yellow. Musky aromas of ripe apple, orange zest and toast; in a slightly oxidative phase. Fat and rich on the palate for a wine with 12.8% alcohol, with peach and apple flavors conveying a low-acid impression. A touch bitter on the finish. Vinous (87-89)
Pale yellow. Musky aromas of ripe apple, orange zest and toast; in a slightly oxidative phase. Fat and rich on the palate for a wine with 12.8% alcohol, with peach and apple flavors conveying a low-acid impression. A touch bitter on the finish. These vines on hard calcaire and friable clay produce small yellow grapes that ripen quickly at the end--and especially in 2015, according to Lamy.In BondSG$2,585.00 -
Vinous (92-93)
Lemon, lime and chalk on the nose, but showing a bit less energy than the regular cuvée and in need of some SO2. Then dense and juicy in the mouth, with the rocky mineral character buffering the wine's natural sweetness; this fruit was picked on August 25 with 14% alcohol, making it the ripest of these 2015s and also the lowest in acidity. Still, the wine's thick flavors of sweet peach and salty minerals deliver remarkable clarity and the finish displays explosive length. Makes a strong statement in favor of extended élevage. In BondSG$5,710.00 -

Wine Advocate (93)
The 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly is excellent, offering up a pure and unadorned bouquet of crisp green apples, white flowers and crushed chalk that's classic Lamy. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, stony and saline, with bright, tangy acids and a pure, mineral finish. Right now, it's tight-knit and reserved, so several years' patience is advised. In BondSG$3,565.00 -

Vinous (91-92)
(tasted from tank): Pale yellow with a green tinge. Distinctly citric aromas of lemon, lime and white flowers. Very fresh and penetrating, showing excellent density leavened by terrific lift; boasts superb limestone intensity. A subtle salinity carries through to the almost painful palate-staining finish. A real outperformer for its appellationIn BondSG$307.00
We found the wines in 2015 very easy and forward to taste, with as much focus on freshness as concentration, so there wasn’t a complete break from the 2014s in that sense. The hope is that as the wines mature they will continue to show the balance and classicism they displayed from the barrel. Our expectation is that they will do so and the best wines will live for a very long time with a genuinely satisfying pattern of maturation throughout their life.
