Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2020 Château d'Aiguilhe Blanc has an understated bouquet that has closed up since I tasted it from barrel. Light aromas of honeysuckle and jasmine surface with aeration but refuse to click into fifth gear. The palate is well balanced with a lively, Sancerre-like entry with Anjou pear and gooseberry. Sharp acidity, but not shrill, this has fine tension with a very clever and subtle reduction on the finish. Very fine. |

Jeb Dunnuck (92-94)The 2021 Chateau D'Aiguilhe Blanc is a terrific white and if you're looking for a terrific Bordeaux Blanc that won't break the bank, give this a whirl. Crushed stone, honeyed lime, and salted citrus are just some of the aromas and flavors, and it's medium-bodied, with racy, vibrant acidity, good mid-palate depth, and a great finish. |

Wine Advocate (93)Seemingly fully mature, Michel and Dany Rolland’s seductive 2000 Bon Pasteur reveals a dark garnet/plum color along with a big, sweet kiss of soy, cedar, roasted herbs, blackberries, caramelized black cherries, and hints of smoke and kirsch. This fleshy, full-bodied Pomerol reveals low acidity, a savory, broad mid-palate, and a decade of life ahead of it. |

Wine Advocate (95)A beautiful wine from Dany and Michel Rolland, this 2005 is surprisingly concentrated and powerful – more so than usual. Deep ruby/purple, with plenty of black cherry and cassis fruit, licorice and a touch of caramel, this wine is still full, youthful, and set for another 15-20 years of longevity. This is a beauty and one of their strongest efforts in the first decade of the 21st century. For a terroir considered well below Pomerol’s superstars, this wine is a major overachiever. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2016 Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion comes from vines located in the clos over towards Martillac, rather than the vines in the original Les Carmes Haut-Brion vineyard in the Bordeaux suburbs, known as Le Clos des Carmes Haut-Brion up until the 2013 vintage. It is a blend of 51% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvigon and 1% Petit Verdot, matured in 30% new oak and the remainder one year old barrels. This includes 25% whole berry fruit. It offers plenty of brambly black fruit on the nose, crushed violets, fresh fig and a touch of spice that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, neatly integrated oak, a little plushness on the entry thanks to the Merlot, and then it dovetails into a more structured, gently grippy, chalk-textured finish with attractive black fruit. Give this two or three years in bottle just to shave off a little abrasiveness and you will have a fine Pessac-Léognan. |

The Wine Cellar Insider (90-92)Plump, sugar-laced black fruit, boysenberry, licorice, campfire smoke and barbecue essence get things underway. Quicky the sassy tannins kick in, shepherding you to a chic, fresh, tobacco infused, fruit-filled core. Using 30% whole bunches in the vinification, the wine was made from 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, reaching 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.72. The harvest took place September 19 to October 3 and, sadly, close to 25% of the vines were damaged by frost. |
