That’s what happens sometimes in warm, dry vintages – the differences between sites are baked out. Even so, the Sorì Paitin offers quite a bit of character. I would cellar it for at least a few years. |

Greg Sherwood MW (94)We all know when Produttori del Barbaresco decide not to bottle all their great nine grower crus, the resulting wines are all blended into the Barbaresco DOCG normale cuvee. 2018 is just such a vintage and sure enough, eager collectors have been waiting for this super charged Nebbiolo release. On initial examination, the wine shows the most pretty, lifted, inviting aromatics of dried rose petals, crushed coriander, tart red cherries, salty blueberries and a seductive red liquorice complexity. On the palate, there is an attractive translucent purity and silky filigree tannins that combine with a suave, lithe, harmonious concentration of red cherry candied fruits, touches of tar, saline cassis, sloe berries and a finish that typifies true, pure classical Nebbiolo fruit. While the seductive allure of the perfumed aromatics currently outpace the slightly backwardness of the palate fruit density and structure, all the signs in the glass point to another extremely fine and supremely attractive Barbaresco release. On the nose, the wine is showing its youth, but far from being inchoate, it is long and polished through the very long finish. It's got lashings of stone fruit and preserved citrus, white pepper, star anise, shaved fennel, juniper and cold buttered toast. Vinous (94)The 2017 Barbaresco Sorì Paitin is another gorgeous wine from the Pasquero family. It has more power, depth and structure than the Serraboella, with a slightly darker tonalities of fruit and more tannic heft, but the differences between the two wines are not as marked as they can be. That’s what happens sometimes in warm, dry vintages – the differences between sites are baked out. Even so, the Sorì Paitin offers quite a bit of character. I would cellar it for at least a few years. |

Vinous (94)The 2022 Régnié Haute-Ronze Mosaïque adds more complexity and mineralité to the aromatics compared to the regular cuvée. As I've said before, this is as good as any Régnié you will find. The palate is beautifully balanced with sculpted, fine tannins that frame the mineral-rich, spice-laced dark berry fruit. Long and tender on the finish, this is a wine that you will finish to the bottom of the bottle and then demand a second. Brilliant. |

Mingling aromas of cassis and plums with notions of licorice, sweet tobacco leaf, rich soil tones, licorice, cigar smoke and violets, it's full-bodied, seamless and complete, with huge concentration, bright acids and a long, penetrating finish. Standing out for its unerring precision, impeccable balance and ineffable sense of completeness, it should prove almost immortal. |

Coming off the heels of the 2014 vintage, this is comparatively much more generous and open and is a pleasure to drink now. It has its hallmark stamp of Chetillon despite the warmth of the vintage and is not overblown. Drink 2023-2043. |

Greg Sherwood MW (94)We all know when Produttori del Barbaresco decide not to bottle all their great nine grower crus, the resulting wines are all blended into the Barbaresco DOCG normale cuvee. 2018 is just such a vintage and sure enough, eager collectors have been waiting for this super charged Nebbiolo release. On initial examination, the wine shows the most pretty, lifted, inviting aromatics of dried rose petals, crushed coriander, tart red cherries, salty blueberries and a seductive red liquorice complexity. On the palate, there is an attractive translucent purity and silky filigree tannins that combine with a suave, lithe, harmonious concentration of red cherry candied fruits, touches of tar, saline cassis, sloe berries and a finish that typifies true, pure classical Nebbiolo fruit. While the seductive allure of the perfumed aromatics currently outpace the slightly backwardness of the palate fruit density and structure, all the signs in the glass point to another extremely fine and supremely attractive Barbaresco release. Drink from 2022 to 2034+. |

Wine Advocate (96+)The 2022 Cuvée Aux Antipodes Blanc is a magnificent triumph of yields. Where previously this 1.8-hectare plot produced anywhere from six to eight barrels of wine, the 2022 produced 23 barrels of wine—very exciting for followers of this cuvée. On the nose, the wine is showing its youth, but far from being inchoate, it is long and polished through the very long finish. It's got lashings of stone fruit and preserved citrus, white pepper, star anise, shaved fennel, juniper and cold buttered toast. This is a wonderful wine of potential and kaleidoscopic complexity, although it is far tighter and more compact than previous years. Searingly good. This was an unlabeled bottle pre-release. 13% alcohol, sealed under Diam. |
