The Clauzet 2022 is a distinguished expression from the renowned McLaren Vale region, expertly crafted by Georges Clauzet. Sourced from meticulously selected vineyards, the grapes are hand-picked to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. The vinification process employs traditional methods, including natural fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine’s vibrant fruit character. Following fermentation, Clauzet 2022 is aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, imparting nuanced flavours of vanilla, spice, and subtle tannins. This vintage reflects Clauzet’s commitment to sustainable viticulture, with organic practices enhancing the terroir’s unique profile. On the palate, it offers a harmonious blend of ripe blackberry, plum, and hints of dark chocolate, culminating in a long, elegant finish. Perfectly balanced and refined, Clauzet 2022 exemplifies the expertise and passion of its producer, making it a distinguished choice for connoisseurs seeking excellence in every sip. |

Jeb Dunnuck (100)Looking at the 2022 Château Cos D'Estournel, this awesome Saint-Estèphe checks in as a normal blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in 50% new oak. Remarkably concentrated yet with a graceful elegance, it has sensational cassis, graphite, spring flowers, and subtle tobacco-driven aromatics, full-bodied richness, a deeply layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel, and a monumental finish. Hitting 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.79, it's as good a Cos d'Estournel as has ever been made. It actually has ample upfront appeal yet won't hit the early stages of its prime drinking window for another decade, and it will have 50-75 years of overall longevity. |

This saturated purple-hued beauty boasts a great nose of smoky red and black fruits interwoven with notes of graphite, tobacco, and crushed stone. It's a rich, full-bodied, concentrated 2022 with sweet tannins and no hard edges. It already offers pleasure, yet I wouldn’t be surprised to see this still going strong at age 30. |
