Wine Advocate (93-95)The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts St Georges is a lovely wine in the making, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, wild berries, spices, licorice and smoked meats. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, its muscular chassis of powdery tannin entirely cloaked in fruit, concluding with a long and nicely defined finish. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Forêts Saint Georges 1er Cru comprises 30% whole bunch and 35% new oak. It has the best bouquet from the domaine this year, delivering gorgeous red fruits laced with violet that burst from the glass, quite Vosne-like in style. The palate is succulent but structured on the entry, presenting a perfect line of acidity, while beautifully integrated oak lends a seamless texture. Very persistent and satiny on the finish. An outstanding wine for the vintage. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Forêts Saint Georges 1er Cru was also raised in 40% new oak. [Incidentally, 0.6ha will be planted with Chardonnay in 2024]. Slightly deeper in color compared to the Clos de l'Arlot, this has slightly more cohesion and complexity on the nose: dark cherries and crushed stone, a hint of wilted rose petals in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with beautifully integrated new oak, lending this a velvety veneer. It is a little plush yet with equivalent tension and a detailed, slightly piquant finish. This is an outstanding Nuits Saint-Georges from the Domaine. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (93-95)The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Forêts Saint Georges 1er Cru has a detailed and complex bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, a subtle estuarine influence and light graphite scents that surface with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with dark berry fruit. This is the most opulent and richest of the cuvées from the Domaine, attributable to the terroir. A dash of white pepper and allspice lingers on the finish. Excellent. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)A mid crimson colour, slightly deeper than Mont des Oiseaux. Rather more pure red fruit on the bouquet. Fine tension, medium plus bodied, more strawberry than raspberry, with an even fruit through to the finish, where the fine tannins and light acidity are in balance. Drink from 2029-2036. Tasted: October 2023. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (92-94)The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l'Arlot 1er Cru has a vibrant bouquet that one might mistake for containing some stems—slightly darker fruit, with a touch of seaweed. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, very well balanced and elegant in style, with a harmonious and persistent finish. Quite seductive. |

Vinous (96)(100% vendange entier): Bright, dark red. Very ripe but rather brooding aromas of blueberry, licorice, violet and tropical dark chocolate. Then wonderfully perfumed and precise in the mouth, conveying an impression of thickness and inner-mouth tension without weight. The stems provide another dimension without dominating the wine's fruits and flowers. A spectacular example of 2015, not yet fleshy but very dense and seductively sweet. The bracing, mounting finish goes on and on. This wine will need many years of cellaring to unfold and yet it's easier to taste today than its 2016 sibling, as are most of these '15s. |

Vinous (98)The 2020 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with fine delineation, redcurrant and raspberry fruit, hints of candied orange peel and just a little camphor. Yet there is a discreetness that I admire, and it unfolds wonderfully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, nicely detailed, fresh and marine-influenced. It is very harmonious; there's a very grandiose finish that lingers seductively. One of the best wines that I have ever tasted from the Domaine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. |

Vinous (93-95)The Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots is all about grace. Weightless, aromatically expressive and silky on the palate, the 2012 stands out for its feminine, graceful personality. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, licorice and leather meld into the generous, resonant finish. The Suchots is one of the least immediate wines in this range. Today it is contemplative and inward, but gorgeous all the same. |

Wine Advocate (93-95)The 2016 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots includes 100% whole cluster with 50% new oak. It has a refined, elegant, mild-mannered bouquet with pure raspberry preserve, cranberry and subtle tobacco scents that unroll with aeration, though never quite delivering the opulence synonymous with the premier cru. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle but insistent grip on the entry. In some ways, the whole bunch addition lends this structure and shifts it toward, say, a Malconsorts in style (not to suggest that is necessarily a bad thing!). Linear and precise, it will require 7 to 10 years in bottle to really show its best. The bottom line is that this is one of the finest Les Suchots that I tasted in 2016. |

Wine Advocate (90)With a medium dark ruby color, and a complex, kirsch, pain grille, smoky, deliciously complex and fruity nose, this fragrant wine offers a wealth of raspberry, currant, and cherry-like fruit. It is not a blockbuster, but rather, an elegant, multi-dimensional, round, velvety-textured wine with a lushness and sweetness of fruit that makes it irresistible. This is one of the more seductive wines of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: Now-2012. |

Wine Advocate (91)A Bordeaux that seems to have a Burgundian personality, L’Arrosée’s 2005 displays elegance and finesse, with sweet black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, hints of minerality and earth, but soft tannin, a lush, medium-bodied style, and impressive concentration, purity and overall texture. By no means a blockbuster (in a vintage that produced almost endless numbers of them), this wine can be drunk now or cellared for another 15-20 years. |
