Wine Advocate (92+)
A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle.Inc. GSTSG$3,832.99 -
Wine Advocate (93-95)
The king of the cellar chez Coche this year is the 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, a beautiful wine that unfurls in the glass with scents of white peach, oatmeal, spring flowers and subtle spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and satiny, with a deep, concentrated core, lovely purity and a bright, precise finish. This is a classic in the making that will reward cellaring.Inc. GSTSG$1,802.27 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-94)
Full pale lemon. The bouquet is attractive with an intriguing note of liquorice. Quite full on the nose, with a little warmth as well as body, then brought back in to a beautiful finish. Good acidity. A little tension behind, needs time. A wine currently showing in two halves, but which may very well develop positively from here. A conservative score for now. Tasted: November 2021Inc. GSTSG$1,037.11 -
Jancis Robinson (16)
Fermented in oak, 18–20% new, as for most village whites. Cask sample. Intense fruit aroma with notes of clementine and ripe lemons and a light touch of spice. Ripe and spicy. Super-creamy, with some almond and quite obvious oak on the palate – obvious at the moment but there’s freshness underneath. Not very subtle but lots of pleasure. Plenty of volume in the mouth, quite a powerful wine.Inc. GSTSG$712.27 -
Gault & Millau (18+)
Cool and delineated. Nuanced herbal spice. A matured wine with depth and substance.Inc. GSTSG$562.16 -
Wine Enthusiast (98)
Stony savor swings as a vestige alongside the zesty citrus on the wine's closed nose. The palate starts off tight and taut, right now it is all sleek and stony. Time in the glass allows glimpses of what still lies deeply buried: a rich, profound yeastiness reverberating with peppery, salty depth. This is an astonishingly concentrated package that, may just be a time capsule that survives us. Drink 2030–2050.Inc. GSTSG$550.93 -
Wine Enthusiast (96)
A subtle but pure note of Mandarin orange rises from the glass. On the palate, a far more lemony flavor takes over, reminiscent as much of fresh, ripe Amalfi lemon peel as of candied lemon. It is pervasive and driven, filling mouth and mind with its citrus richness and allure. There is drive, concentration, ripeness and zest. The finish is long, dry and very appetizing.Inc. GSTSG$627.23 -
Wine Enthusiast (98)
A gentle hint of ripe tangerine peel immediately hits the nose. With more air, this unfolds to include notions of ripe blood orange and Mandarin, too. The palate comes in with steely concentration that speaks as much of absolute freshness as of glorious ripeness. The flavors are pristine, contoured by immense raciness. There is something steely and stony at the very core that radiates utter freshness. Drink by 2050.Inc. GSTSG$548.77
