From the esteemed vineyards of Bordeaux comes the remarkable Chateau d'Issan, Haut-Medoc 2020. This notable Margaux estate, dating back to the 12th century, is historically reputed for producing prestigious wines of expressive character. This impeccable 2020 vintage, symbolic of the estate’s meticulous viniculture practices, possesses a brilliant blend of predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon. Grown on deep gravel and clay soils, the grapes are handpicked, embarked on a prolonged fermentation and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. This process results in an indulgent, full-bodied wine, with complex aromatics of dark berries and spicy notes, boasting elegant tannins and a lengthy, velvety finish. In the tradition of Bordeaux's wine-making excellence, the Chateau d'Issan, Haut-Medoc 2020 exhibits a transcendent balance of intensity and refinement, making it a superior addition to any connoisseur's collection.

James Suckling (96)
A very elegant and refined Echezeaux that nimbly moves over your palate. Underplayed power and very fine tannins make this a shy beauty, but if you give it time and attention then you will be amply rewarded. Very silky and delicate, long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.Inc. GSTSG$2,020.71 -
Wine Advocate (95-97)
The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru is brilliant, soaring from the glass with scents of exotic spices, wild berries, plums, rose petals, raw cocoa, peonies and blood orange. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's deep and complete, with supple tannins and a gourmand, enveloping core of fruit, concluding with a long and mouthwatering finish. This is the finest Echézeaux I've tasted from Guyon.Inc. GSTSG$11,287.43 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (97-100)
First picked, 100% decorticated. “This is the best wine I have made in my life”. Rich noble imperial purple. All right, team, this really is it! “Tu le bois avec le nez, you drink it with your nose”. No question here. This completely works as there is not the slightest sensation of cooked fruit. No spitting. I don’t know what to say. Actually I was just formulating the words that this is the finest Echezeaux I have tasted in my life when Jean-Pierre interrupted to say that Michel Bettane thought the same! An intensely seductive lush red velvet fruit covering an entirely perfect bone structure. One of the wines of the vintage. Could be THE wine of the vintage. Tasted: November 2021Inc. GSTSG$7,115.21 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-96)
Exceptionally concentrated, indeed super saturated purple, with massive weight on the nose. There is also a huge weight of fruit to the back of the palate. While the wine from En Orveaux lacks the dainty detail which Echezeaux can have, it offers graceful muscle instead.Inc. GSTSG$1,436.31 -
Wine Spectator (93)
This richly structured wine manages to maintain balance and plenty of black-fruit acidity. Showing a firm texture that will soften, it's a blend of equal parts of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with just a touch of Petit Verdot. The wine needs to age further, so drink from 2022.Inc. GSTSG$327.48 -
James Suckling (94)
A chewy, linear 2018 with very attractive blackberry, chocolate and wet-earth character. Some mushrooms, too. It’s full-bodied, very tight and tannic, yet polished and creamy-textured. Flavorful finish. Very typically Medoc. Needs three years to soften. Try after 2024.Inc. GSTSG$280.59 -
Wine Advocate (94+)
The 2016 Echézeaux Grand Cru wafts from the glass with a deep bouquet of smoked meats, cassis, blackberries, incense and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with rich but supple tannins, a deep and concentrated core of fruit, lively acids and a long, thrillingly carnal finish. This is a beautifully made Echézeaux from this challenging frost vintage.Inc. GSTSG$3,028.52
