Wine Advocate (92+)A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle. |

From the esteemed vineyards of Bordeaux comes the remarkable Chateau d'Issan, Haut-Medoc 2020. This notable Margaux estate, dating back to the 12th century, is historically reputed for producing prestigious wines of expressive character. This impeccable 2020 vintage, symbolic of the estate’s meticulous viniculture practices, possesses a brilliant blend of predominantly Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon. Grown on deep gravel and clay soils, the grapes are handpicked, embarked on a prolonged fermentation and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. This process results in an indulgent, full-bodied wine, with complex aromatics of dark berries and spicy notes, boasting elegant tannins and a lengthy, velvety finish. In the tradition of Bordeaux's wine-making excellence, the Chateau d'Issan, Haut-Medoc 2020 exhibits a transcendent balance of intensity and refinement, making it a superior addition to any connoisseur's collection. |

Wine Advocate (93-95)The king of the cellar chez Coche this year is the 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, a beautiful wine that unfurls in the glass with scents of white peach, oatmeal, spring flowers and subtle spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and satiny, with a deep, concentrated core, lovely purity and a bright, precise finish. This is a classic in the making that will reward cellaring. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-94)Full pale lemon. The bouquet is attractive with an intriguing note of liquorice. Quite full on the nose, with a little warmth as well as body, then brought back in to a beautiful finish. Good acidity. A little tension behind, needs time. A wine currently showing in two halves, but which may very well develop positively from here. A conservative score for now. Tasted: November 2021 |

Jancis Robinson (16)Fermented in oak, 18–20% new, as for most village whites. Cask sample. Intense fruit aroma with notes of clementine and ripe lemons and a light touch of spice. Ripe and spicy. Super-creamy, with some almond and quite obvious oak on the palate – obvious at the moment but there’s freshness underneath. Not very subtle but lots of pleasure. Plenty of volume in the mouth, quite a powerful wine. |

Wine Spectator (93)This richly structured wine manages to maintain balance and plenty of black-fruit acidity. Showing a firm texture that will soften, it's a blend of equal parts of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with just a touch of Petit Verdot. The wine needs to age further, so drink from 2022. |

James Suckling (94)A chewy, linear 2018 with very attractive blackberry, chocolate and wet-earth character. Some mushrooms, too. It’s full-bodied, very tight and tannic, yet polished and creamy-textured. Flavorful finish. Very typically Medoc. Needs three years to soften. Try after 2024. |
