Wine Advocate (95+)The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières is firmly shut down, offering up only a reticent bouquet of iodine, toasted nuts and citrus oil. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, tangy and bright but decidedly taut, playing its cards very close to its vest. From barrel, this was the most intense and concentrated wine in Roulot's cellar, with immense potential, but given how closed the wine is today, there is really no point pulling corks for a good five years. |

Wine Advocate (88-90)The 2014 Meursault la Barre has a powerful bouquet with hints of white chocolate and brioche infusing the citrus fruit, all nicely defined. The palate is well balanced with veins of tropical fruit that ensure that this a very flattering Meursault, approachable and probably more early drinking than others, with an easy-going white tea-tinged finish. |

Vinous (90)Pale yellow. Expressive nose offers ripe peach and an exotic soft citrus quality. Silky, dry and rich, with a distinctly honeyed ripeness. The juicy finish is buttressed by dusty minerality but this broad wine could nonetheless use a bit more mid-palate cut. These vines were planted in 1995 and 2004. |

Vinous (92+)Pale, bright yellow. Restrained aromas of iodine, crushed rock and chestnut. Densely packed but slightly spiky and uncompromisingly dry, offering a bracing combination of lemon and pineapple fruit, firm minerality and lively acidity. Very tightly chiseled in the middle palate but opens out somewhat on the rocky back end, finishing with echoing flavors of lemon and saline minerality. Still, this youthfully unforthcoming wine will require patience. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2019 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has a slightly richer bouquet compared to Bouzereau’s other cuvées, presenting dried honey and orange pith scents plus honeysuckle and beeswax. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Harmonious and full of energy. The vibrant citrus/lime finish fans out wonderfully and the spicy aftertaste is one of the longest I have found on this particular cuvée. Superb. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2019 Meursault Perrières 1er Cru has a tight, focused nose of gunflint and gravel, expressing this noble vineyard extremely well in the sense that it could not be from anywhere else. The palate is well balanced with touches of orange peel, ginger and light savory notes on the entry. Quite a phenolically driven Perrières, it has wonderful length, even if it does not quite have the clinical precision of, say, Dominique Lafon’s own Perrières. Still, this is a well-crafted, quite sublime Meursault. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2018 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru, matured in around one-third new oak, underwent a slightly later malolactic than other cuvées, not finishing until early summer, though Anne Morey cannot explain why. It has an exquisite bouquet that translates the mineralité of this vineyard with style and panache. Prudent use of new oak allows the terroir to shine through from the glass. The palate is beautifully balanced with an intense opening, quite spicy and peppery, and razor-sharp definition. This Perrières has wonderful length and the aftertaste is extraordinarily long. Here's a young 2016 that might be compared to a 2010. This still needs further élevage to stretch out, and lose some of its CO2. |
