Selection with Condition Photos
At Cru World Wine, we understand that bottle condition is crucial when it comes to purchasing wine, especially when buying back vintage wines. That's why we've created our "Selection with Condition Photos" page - a curated selection of wines that includes detailed photos of each bottle, so you can make an informed decision before making a purchase. Our photos show the condition of the bottle, including any signs of wear or damage, giving you the confidence to make an informed purchase decision.

Jancis Robinson (18.5)
Served at The Clove Club's Bordeaux lunch with roast foie gras, loquat, hazelnut and amaranth - a particularly successful combination. Deep orangey gold. Masses of botrytis exhibited on the rich nose full of pungent lanolin. The finish was fresh and clean and the sweetness, if on a scale of 1 to 10, would be about 7. Lots of weight and presence - really very majestic. No hurry whatsoever to drink this.Inc. GSTSG$2,515.56 -
Jancis Robinson (18)
Lift and richness and electrified raisins! There's a lot of energy here. Medicine? Sinewy. Not the sweetest.Inc. GSTSG$2,908.62 -
Wine Advocate (95-97)
Firstly, you notice the color, which is a touch deeper than recent vintages at this stage. The bouquet is quite honeyed and rich for Yquem at this early juncture, with subtle scents of peach skin, white flowers, and a puff of chalk and frangipane. The palate is viscous on the entry, all about the texture at first, coating the mouth with luscious botrytized fruit. There are touches of Seville orange marmalade, fresh apricot, a hint of spice and passion fruit. This is imbued with impressive depth and weight, perhaps an Yquem that is determined to make an impression after last year-s absence. It might not possess the finesse of a top flight Yquem, but it has immense power and persistency.Inc. GSTSG$3,257.42 -

The 2005 Dassault is packed with blackberry jam, espresso, dark chocolate, spice and sweet French oak. This powerhouse Saint-Émilion offers plenty of impact to match its extroverted style. Drink it over the next decade.Inc. GSTSG$1,374.36 -
James Suckling (93-94)
A very pretty wine with blackberry and dark chocolate aromas and flavors. Full body, soft tannins and a walnut, berry aftertaste. Impressive.Inc. GSTSG$1,284.89 -
Wine Advocate (79)
Although it is a pleasant, medium ruby-colored wine, the 1996 De Sales is dry in the finish. It reveals ripe cherry fruit intermixed with dusty earthy elements as well as a suggestion of roasted nuts. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.Inc. GSTSG$954.84 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (93)
Limpid gold in color, the 2001 Doisy-Védrines offers beeswax, honeysuckle and quince jelly on the nose; hints of gingerbread emerge with time. The oak comes through a bit here, which is odd after two decades. The palate is vibrant and tensile on the entry, delivering the weight one expects from this Barsac, allied with a fine bead of acidity that imparts tension. Tangy marmalade and quince notes appear toward the finish. This is a fine Doisy-Védrines that is à point.Inc. GSTSG$1,224.94 -
James Suckling (97)
Aromas of blueberries and lemon rind. Full body, with soft and velvety tannins and bright fruity finish. Refined and beautiful. Layered wine. Pure fruit. Gravelley. Stoney. So classy and complex. Try in 2020.Inc. GSTSG$1,860.54 -

In decline, the 1983 Ducru-Beaucaillou is showing notes of asphalt, earth, compost, and peppery, herb-tinged black fruits. The aromas in the attack exhibit good complexity, but then the wine becomes attenuated, even desiccated in the finish. The wine is medium-bodied and needs to be drunk up. Anticipated maturity: Now-2006. Last tasted, 5/02.Inc. GSTSG$821.64 -

Wine Spectator (95)
Lean and silky with amazingly intense, ripe plum and cassis fruit, a hint of mint and cedar, beguilingly complex and rich, yet still delicate, almost sweet as it echoes the fruit and cedar on the finish.Inc. GSTSG$558.35 -
Wine Spectator (95)
