Wine Advocate (95)Leflaive's 1995 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is showing well, unfurling in the glass with a complex and rich bouquet of peach, mandarin, confit lemon, honeycomb, saffron and freshly baked bread. On the palate, it's full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a deep and concentrated core, its chewy chassis of dry extract enveloped in fleshy fruit, and it's still lively and vibrant as it approaches its 24th birthday. This was a year of low yields—a cold spell disrupted flowering—and a warm summer, and that's reflected by this muscular, powerful Chevalier. |

Burghound (96)A dazzlingly complex and pure nose reveals an incredible breadth of spice-box and dark fruit aromas that are displaying only a whisper of secondary development along with just enough wood to comment on. The ripe and seductive yet incredibly intense medium-bodied flavors display marvelous depth and perfect balance on the sappy, sweet, powerful and hugely long finish that is beautifully detailed and focused. This beauty is a model of grace and understatement and while it could be drunk now with pleasure I would advise waiting as it seems quite clear that there is still plenty of unrealized development potential. In sum, this is stunningly good. |

Wine Spectator (92-94)Lots of blackberry and spice character, with chocolate undertones. Full-bodied, with lovely fine tannins and a long finish. A textbook claret, with refinement yet power. Love the touch of sweet fruit on the end. Almost Burgundian. Lovely and pretty. Score range: 92-94 |

Vinous (94-96)Deep red with ruby tones. Much more reticent on the nose than the Cros Parantoux, hinting at minerals and crushed rock. Sweet, dense and penetrating, with extremely backward flavors similar to the aromas. This isn't quite showing the treble tones of the Cros Parantoux but it's a bigger wine and may be even longer. Spreads out remarkably on the seriously tannic, ripe finish. |

Jancis Robinson (18.5)Deep crimson. Firm, strongly cassis nose. Very voluptuous texture. Appetising and beautifully balanced. Obviously Médoc. Dried out a little on the end but the contrast between the flesh of this wine and skinniness of the Margaux tasted immediately beforehand could not have been more marked. It was still fresh and clean 24 hours afterwards but had lost a little density. |

Wine Advocate (93)The 2015 Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia is a dark, exuberant and opulent wine that is teeming with flavor, ripeness and extract. That said, there is also a note of impurity that I only really locked in on when I went back to taste the wine at different time intervals later in the day and the next. To be clear, it was there upon first examination, but then it blew off. And then it came back. That game of hide and seek proved distracting and puzzling. I wondered if it was cork or barrel, although it did not behave like any of those things, and my doubt is recorded by the question mark next to my score. Once you get past that little blemish, you are instantly aware of the beauty and depth of the vintage. The wine is savory in terms of aromas and sweet in terms of tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon flavors of dried blackberry, toasted espresso and cured tobacco play leading roles. |

Wine Advocate (100)A deeper, richer version of the Cuvee Reservee, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee da Capo is one of the more youthful, concentrated wines of the vintage. Coming primarily from the la Crau lieu-dit and over 90% Grenache, aged in an old foudre, its deep ruby color is followed by a bonafide smorgasbord of Provencal aromas and flavors of garrigue, cured meats, incense, beef blood, black currants and pepper. While a full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, rich and unctuous wine, it carries its wealth of fruit and mid-palate density with incredible elegance and purity, with a seamless texture, no hard edges and a finish that won't quit. The 2007 is more elegant and seamless than both the 1998 and 2003, with an incredible sweetness of tannin. Nevertheless, it still needs another 2-4 years of bottle age and will blow your mind over the following 10-15 years. |

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (93-96)Saturated ruby-red. Brilliant nose features kirsch, dark berries, and iron scents, with an overlay of perfumed, spicy oak. Lush, sweet and fragrant in the mouth, with a sappy freshness; clearly made from low yields. Finishes with toothcoating but suave tannins and remarkable persistence; stains the palate with spicy bitter cherry and citric skin flavor. As with the '94, clearly the best wine in the Moueix portfolio on this day. |

Vinous (91)Colin-Morey's 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Enseignières captures the best elements of the vintage. Vinous (95)Deep, bright ruby-red. Cherry, licorice and smoked meat at the outset; then exploded with raspberry fruit. Lush, smooth and silky, with lovely inner-mouth perfume. Highly complex flavors of raspberry, minerals, bitter chocolate and smoky oak convey an extraordinary sweetness without any excess weight. Expands wonderfully on the extremely long, aromatic finish, which features noble, palate-dusting tannins. From the recorked bottle, the wine again began with dominant smoky, tarry torrefaction notes, and within minutes was taken over by red berries and flowers. More classic than the '03, but the 2003 may be even richer. |

Finishes with nobler tannins and slowly mounting, extremely persistent flavor. |

Honoured with a place among Napa Valley's finest, the Schweiger Cabernet Sauvignon 1996 showcases brilliant artistry and consistent excellence. This exquisite vintage is crafted by the Schweiger Vineyards, a family-owned property located in upper Spring Mountain. The fruit is sourced from a high altitude microclimate offering terrain-driven intensity, enhanced by hand-harvesting techniques. Its expert maceration on the skins strengthens its rich tapestry of flavours. Experience the symphony of black fruit variants interlaced with hints of cedar and leather. The maturation for 20 months in custom French oak barrels endows it with an eloquent expression of spice and a fine-grained velvety structure. An enduring finish bears the testament to its outstanding quality. Indeed, the Schweiger Cabernet Sauvignon 1996 is a remarkable depiction of the vintage, reflecting the dedicated craft of winemaker Andrew Schweiger. This wine serves as a perfect toast to the classic Napa style and the passion that flows into every bottle. |

Vinous (96)Our third flight kicks off with the 1999 Solaia. Still a powerhouse, the 1999 (magnum) packs a serious punch. Dark macerated cherry, espresso, chocolate, licorice and blackberry jam infuse the 1999 with so much character. The 1999 is very much a product of its era, a time when heavy extraction and a search for concentration ruled the day. Even so, it has aged impeccably. |
