Prunotto
Although Prunotto was founded as a co-operative in Piedmont in 1904, it was not until the Marchesi Antinori began to help with exporting Prunotto Barolo and Barbaresco in the 1990s, and later, becane involved in production that their wines took off. The winery has stayed true to its original values using their own vineyards to ensure quality control.

Vinous (93)
The 2009 Barbaresco Bric Turot is rich, broad and expressive. Dark cherry, tobacco, underbrush, licorice, menthol and savory herbs notes all blossom in a large-scaled Barbaresco with tons of sheer appeal. The Nebbiolo tannins are present, but they are nearly buried by the depth of the fruit.Inc. GSTSG$847.37 -
Vinous (91)
(mostly aged in big barrels): Bright medium red. Lovely elegant perfume of raspberry, strawberry, rose petal, brown spices and minerals. Sweet and fine-grained, with an enticing minty medicinal reserve to its red fruit, menthol and floral flavors. Much broader on the back end than the normale, finishing with a fine dusting of tannins and lovely lift and perfume. A very pretty, distinctly calcaire wine that reminded me of Burgundy.Inc.
