Pewsey Vale
About Pewsey Vale
Pewsey Vale is a winery with seriously historic status in Australia. Established way back in the 1840s by the Englishman Joseph Gilbert, Pewsey Vale was the first to cultivate grapevines in the most elevated section of the Eden Valley. Grapes are sourced exclusively from the enclosed Pewsey vineyard, which sits at 500m altitude. Crucially, this altitude means that the vineyard enjoys cooler temperatures and an extended growing season versus the surrounding area, and this extended ripening results in a complex and pungently aromatic Riesling.
Lead by viticulturist Darrel Kruger and winemaker Louise Rose at present, this award-winning duo is responsible for some of the most long-lived and beautifully structured Riesling being produced in the New World.

James Suckling (96)
A subtle yet concentrated nose, defined by lemon curd, white pepper, nutmeg, oyster shell and Granny Smith apples. Medium-to full-bodied and so driven by the acidity that lines every corner of this beauty. It’s also what gives structure to this wine, drawing all the pithy lemon flavors in and triangulating the attack. The finish is long and remarkable. Drink or hold. Screw cap.Inc. GSTSG$387.50
