Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2010 Nuits St. Georges La Richemone Ultra, from a vineyard planted in 1902, is super-finessed and classy. The fruit seems to hover on the palate. Dark cherries, plums, sweet spices and mint are some of the many notes that come together in the glass. The precise, understated finish is beautifully articulated. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Richemoines Cuvee Ultra comes from a small parcel of vines planted back in 1902. It includes 50% whole cluster fruit and there are three barrels this year. It has an enticing bouquet with black cherries, cracked black pepper, tertiary notes and a little undergrowth. The palate has more matiere than the regular cuvee with a fine line of acidity and just a touch more backbone towards the persistent finish. This is very fine and should age well over the next 15 years. |

Wine Advocate (89-91)The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru La Richemoines Cuvée Ultra has a clean and precise, mineral-driven bouquet that is a little austere at the moment, but that will fill out. There is great terroir expression here and real energy. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit on the entry. This is nice structured, grippy in the mouth with good tension. What is needs is a little more flesh to develop towards the finish, as it does come across as very linear and strict at the moment. Let's see how it performs in bottle. |

Vinous (92)The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d’Orveau "Cuvée Ultra" has an intense bouquet of red cherries, cranberry and orange peel aromas that unfold nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a supple, raspberry preserve and cranberry-driven finish that feels elegant and composed. Very fine. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau "Cuvée Ultra" has a more savory bouquet that Christophe Perrot-Minot’s other cuvées, the stem addition needing more time to be fully subsumed into the fruit. Forest floor and touches of game filter through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, much more ferrous in style compared to the La Richemone that preceded it, with maybe just a little more austerity and grip on the finish. This will need time. |

Burghound (91-94)‘Outstanding’ A pretty, cool and airy nose is comprised by aromas of maraschino cherry laced with both earth and a plethora of floral elements. The sleek, intense and wonderfully mineral-driven middle weight flavors possess an almost pungent salinity on the bitter cherry-inflected finish that flashes superb length. Like the Gevrey villages, if this can develop more depth with time in bottle this could be a knock-out. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis La Riotte 1er Cru has an intense, floral bouquet with macerated red cherries, Seville orange marmalade and iodine aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, dark cherries mixed with cassis and orange rind leading to a finish that exerts a gentle grip. This should evolve into a fine La Riotte. |

Vinous (93)Bright full red. Wonderfully vibrant scents of raspberry, cherry, peppery spices, flowers, licorice and bitter chocolate. Silky, saline and dense, conveying a restrained sweetness and distinct soil complexity to the flavors of dark raspberry and smoky minerals. The wine's richness and depth are perfectly cut by mineral-driven energy. This sharply delineated wine finishes with noble tannins and excellent length. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2019 Nuit-Saint-Georges La Richemone Vieilles Vignes "Cuvée Ultra" has a very intense bouquet that threatens to overwhelm the sense: black cherries, boysenberry, violet with hints of sage and orange rind. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins that caress the sense, very Vosne-like in style with a satin-textured and very luxurious finish. This will be impossible to resist in its youth so don’t say I didn’t warn you. |

Wine Advocate (92)Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts has a tightly wound bouquet, dark plum and raspberry fruit, a touch of blackberry, the oak nicely integrated although it is staying inside its shell for the time being. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red cherry and raspberry fruit, the tannins finer than I was anticipating, the acidity well judged as it segues into a backward but focused, quite structured finish. Christophe Perrot-Minot's Beaux Monts has very good potential. Tasted September 2016. |
