James Suckling (96)This elegant sparkling has aromas of raw walnuts and hazelnuts, white grapefruit, bread dough, white sesame and seaweed. It’s electric and vibrant on the palate with so much fresh and salty minerality. Sleek and focused, with tight and fine bubbles. Bone-dry. 100% chardonnay from vines planted in 1962 in a 1.3 ha plot in Avize. No dosage added. Drink or hold. |

Vinous (93)The Jacquesson’s Cuvée No. 738 is stellar. Bright, focused and finely cut, the 738 impresses for its energy and overall vibrancy. In many ways, the 738 sets the tone for the night, as it is so full of life. This is a great showing from a Champagne that consistently overdelivers relative to its peers. |

Vinous (94)The Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 742, based on the 2014 vintage, is a gorgeous wine. In this release, the Cuvée seems especially marked by Pinot in both its flavor profile and texture. Dried pear, hazelnut, mint, chamomile and dried flowers all grace this rich, beautifully resonant Champagne from Jacquesson. Best of all, the 742 will drink well with minimal cellaring. The 700-series Champagnes are often superb; the 742 is an especially fine edition. The blend is 59% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers) and 41% Chardonnay (from Avize and Oiry). Dosage is 1.5 grams per liter. |

Vinous (93)The 2007 Dizy-Corne Bautray is soft, silky and quite open. Lemon peel, mint, white flowers and white pepper are some of the notes that give the 2007 its distinctive brightness and energy. Equally polished on the palate, the 2007 is exceptionally silky and finessed in its tactile impression. A wine of classiness and total understatement, the 2007 should drink well for at least another 5-10 years, perhaps more. There is good brightness in the glass, but the wine’s structure is very much medium in body. One of the things that stands out most is the silkiness and nearly imperceptible feel of the bubbles, especially as the wine opens up in the glass. Disgorged January, 2016. No Dosage. |

Wine Advocate (95)This tiny 1.33-hectare plot, entirely planted with Pinot Noir in 1993, is the cradle of the 2015 Extra-Brut Premier Cru Dizy - Terres Rouges. Revealing aromas of spring flowers, herbs, toast, tobacco leaf, red berries and menthol, it's medium to full-bodied, tense and straight, structured and perfectly balanced, with a long, phenolic and chalky finish. This is an excellent, singular rendition of Pinot Noir, a combination of finesse and power. Disgorged in March 2023 with no dosage. |
