Wine Spectator (95)A touch of a vegetal element to the sweet cherry and woodsy spice flavors and a sinewy texture mark this red. It seems closed down now, with the structure dominating, but there's a smoldering intensity and energy that powers the long aftertaste. Offers both elegance and depth. Be patient. Best from 2014 through 2028. 110 cases imported. -BS |

Tim Atkin MW (99)Should this vineyard be a Grand Cru? Who knows, but it's always served last by Christophe Roumier when one visits the domaine. It's a site that combines heat and freshness to perfection. Crunchy, fresh and refined, the resulting wine is feminine and elegant with notes of fresh raspberries and red cherry, subtle oak and a spicy, savoury undertone. Wonderfully subtle winemaking from a brilliant vigneron. |

Vinous (89-91)The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Village is the combination of three cuvées wih 35% whole bunch. There was a slight reduction on the nose that maybe exposes the whole bunch a little more, but there is so much freshness and vitality still present. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, just a faint almost dark chocolate like note in the background that will be assimilated by the time of bottling. Fine length. Delicious. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de La Bussière 1er Cru, which includes 55% whole bunch, has a transparent and distinctly marine-influenced, oyster-shell tinged bouquet. It is a little more floral than previous vintages – delicate, even. The palate is medium-bodied with a quite saline, lightly spiced entry. Touches of white pepper and clove develop toward the finish of what is a superior Clos de la Bussière to the 2018. Very promising. |
