Vinous (90+)
(from Mazoyères-Chambertin; vinified with 80% whole clusters): Bright red. Reticent aromas of black cherry and licorice. Uncompromisingly dry on the palate but with noteworthy juicy intensity to the flavors of dark fruits and dried flowers. Not a particularly pliant or fleshy style--in fact a bit tough in the early going--but its rising perfume suggests that it will reward cellaring. Today the dusty tannins are accentuated by the influence of the stems, which limits the wine's sweetness.Inc. GSTSG$2,247.01 -
Vinous (88-91)
(70% vendange entier): Bright red. Musky blackberry and spice aromas hint at a medicinal reserve. Concentrated but tight and backward, displaying dark fruit and underbrush flavors accented by a peppery quality. Tough going today but has the intensity and backbone to blossom in bottle. This holding, which was formerly part of the Truchot estate, comprises 1. 2 hectares, with the vines ranging in age from 25 to 80 years old.Inc. GSTSG$1,501.98
