Cristom Vineyards
About Cristom Vineyards
Founded in 1992 by Paul Gerrie and his wife Eileen, Cristom Vineyards is widely recognized as one of Oregon’s leading producers and has found its way into Wine & Spirits Magazine’s “Top 100 Wineries of the Year” for five consecutive years since 2015. It is currently managed by second-generation winegrower and owner Tom Gerrie, who oversees the production of a largely Pinot Noir-dominated range of wines.

Vinous (96)Deeply seductive, the 2021 Pinot Noir Eileen Vineyard opens with a burst of mentholated herbs, licorice and sweet autumnal spices. Juicy and broad upon entry, this envelopes the palate with ripe red and hints of blue fruit, giving way to suggestions of cola and lavender. Its mineral core comes forward through the finish, gaining tension through a blend of fine tannins and residual acids as spice and floral notes resonate throughout. The Eileen Vineyard is refined using 46% whole clusters and 34% new French oak barrels for eighteen months. |

Vinous (94)The 2021 Pinot Noir Jessie Vineyard opens with a dusty bouquet of rich autumnal spices, hints of ginger and crushed raspberry. This sweeps across the palate with a wave of ripe wild berries guided by zesty acidity, taking on a distinct savoriness toward the close. Hints of blood orange and bitter dark chocolate linger long as the 2021 tapers off with youthful tension and a layer of grippy tannins that frame the experience beautifully. The Jessie is the most wildly appealing of the Cristom single vineyards, presenting a little of something for everyone. |

Vinous (93)The 2021 Pinot Noir Louise Vineyard is savory with a pleasantly herbal tinge as suggestions of incense and lavender give way to cinnamon-dusted blackberries. It’s a model of purity, wiry, with saline minerals and depths of tart wild berries peppering the palate. This is long and perfumed with a coating of concentration that lingers long, leaving a cranberry crunch through the finale. |

Vinous (95)Darkly alluring, the 2021 Pinot Noir Marjorie Vineyard is perfumed with dusty violets and lavender, giving way to dried black cherries. Luxuriously round, with juicy acidity, this cascades across the palate with crisp raspberry fruits as rosy inner florals amass toward the close.
