Wine Advocate (93)The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignieres has a light apple blossom and lime-scented bouquet that needed some encouragement from the glass. It comes across more backward when compared to the 2015 Meursault Rougeot or Narvaux that preceded this wine at the domaine tasting. The palate offers candied orange peel on the entry that gallivants about with mandarin and grapefruit. It is hot-wired with a killer line of acidity that imbues this Puligny with supreme energy. The finish is pleasantly saline and offers a cheeky dab of lemongrass on the aftertaste. This is just superb. |

Vinous (93)The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseigneres comes from a single hectare of vines planted in the 1950s. I often feel their Puligny is overlooked simply for the crime of not being "Meursault." The bouquet is very precise and focused, offering Golden Delicious apple, honeysuckle and light fennel scents, plus faint orange blossom aromas. The palate is powerful and intense with a fine bead of acidity, hints of praline infusing the slightly peachy fruit, and then coheres beautifully toward the persistent finish. This is simply an outstanding Puligny-Montrachet that effortlessly punches at Premier Cru level. |

Burghound (93)Outstanding. This is also quite floral in character with its array of honeysuckle, acacia and lavender notes that add a touch of elegance to the layered citrus, spice, pear and soft wood aromas. The rich, concentrated and opulent medium-bodied flavors are blessed with plenty of dry extract that soaks the palate while buffering the firm acid spine shaping the beautifully persistent finish. This needs to develop more depth with time in bottle but this exciting Puligny villages appears to be very promising. |

Wine Advocate (94)The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignières is especially successful this year, bursting from the glass with notes of crisp stone fruits, white flowers, blanched almonds, pastry cream and sesame oil. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a concentrated core of fruit, racy acids and striking purity and precision, it's an elegant, penetrating wine that stands out even in this very compelling portfolio. |
