This should be a fabulous bottle once the elements meld together a little more fully. |

But this very long, vibrant wine finishes with a touch of underbrush and superb rising perfume. Incidentally, Bernstein owns these vines, as well as those from which he makes his Mazis-Chambertin. |

The palate is finely tuned and a little oaky at the moment, though the oak will be soaked up with time. This is well balanced, displaying a fine bead of acidity, impressive precision and a very persistent finish that is pure joy. An outstanding Mazis from Bernstein. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |

Darkly, elegantly fragrant. Dry, the tannins paper-fine. All in elegance even though the fruit is fully, darkly ripe. Again there is a hint of oak sweetness but very much in the background.
