Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)Pale clear colour. A gentle fresh apple nose, this has notable tension on the palate, not a rich, ripe rounded Meursault – but that is not the intention anyway. The attack suggests that this is only just ripe, but the finish indicates that it was picked at a very good moment, otherwise you wouldn’t have this length of flavour. Fine tension to finish. |

Emerging from the esteemed cellars of one of Burgundy's most revered vignerons, the Arnaud Ente Meursault 2019 exemplifies French craftsmanship at its finest. With meticulous care, Arnaud Ente cultivated Chardonnay from his low-yielding, old vines located in the premium Meursault commune. Such a cherished terroir, framed by chalky soils and a temperate climate, ensures this 2019 vintage's impeccable balance and profound complexity. Harvested manually and vinified with a judicious use of new oak, Arnaud Ente Meursault 2019 triumphs as a true reflection of its terroir. It unveils an intense bouquet of ripe orchard fruit, honey, white flowers, and delicate minerality, seducing both the nose and palate. Boasting a full-bodied richness enveloped by bright acidity, this wine finishes with a persistent length on the palate. Assured to evolve beautifully with careful cellaring, Arnaud Ente Meursault 2019 remains a choice acquisition for the discerning oenophile. |

Wine Advocate (90)The 2018 Meursault Village opens in the glass with notes of crisp Anjou pear, white flowers, mandarin oil, bread dough and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's lively and precise, with a delicate but tightly wound core and a bright, mineral finish. As usual, this cuvée derives from two lieux-dits: En l'Ormeau on the plain (which is also the source of Ente's Clos des Ambres and Sève du Clos bottlings) and Les Casse-Têtes on the hillside, the vines having been planted in 1952-1953 and 1998, respectively. |

Vinous (88-90)(12.2% alcohol with 4.4 grams of acidity; cropped at 28 hectoliters per hectare): Cool aromas of lime and spearmint. Then surprisingly dense and sappy in the mouth, with brisk lemon and lime fruit flavors accented by gingery spices. Quite dusty and tactile for such a low-octane wine: it's difficult to find this style outside of Burgundy. Finishes floral and persistent. |

Wine Advocate (93)The 2017 Meursault Clos des Ambres is also showing very well from bottle, opening in the glass with notes of green pear, oatmeal, dried white flowers and a hint of youthful reduction that dissipates with aeration. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, multidimensional and textural, with an enveloping attack that segues into a deep, muscular core, concluding with a racy finish. |

Wine Advocate (92+)A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle. |

Burghound (92)Outstanding. A slightly riper and notably spicier nose reveals liqueur-like notes of acacia, apple and lemon-lime. There is again excellent mid-palate density to the almost painfully intense medium-bodied flavors that coat the mouth with sappy dry extract before concluding in a powerful and wonderfully long finale where a touch of bitter zest character appears. The straight Meursault is lovely but this offers just a bit more of everything. |

Vinous (91-93)(these vines, which Ente says are 120 years old, produced just 14 hectoliters per hectare in 2015): Very bright, pale yellow. Riesling-like reduction to the very pure aromas of pineapple and lemon oil. Rich and chewy in the mouth, with the wine's seamless yellow fruit flavors giving a sweet impression that's nicely countered by a flavor of dusty stone. Ente noted that the ancient vines that he replanted when he started here go into his basic Meursault cuvée. With its bulletproof fruit and underlying minerality, this is a wonderfully plush and complete Meursault in the making. |
