The NV Champagne Les Grandes Lignes Brut Nature is peppery and bright, more linear and tense, with a compact, long, chalky focus, even in this warm 2020 vintage. It packs in a great deal of energy and intensity, and is more angular in structure, with a nervous and coiled tension. While I appreciate the structure, the other two are more enjoyable at this tasting, as this comes off a bit harsh and austere. They will no longer be working with this parcel in the future because the vineyard owner chose to use it for themselves. Disgorged in September of 2024. Drink 2027-2045.Inc. GSTSG$807.04 -

The NV (2020) Brut Nature Les Revers, 100% Chardonnay, is quite potent in the glass. A blast of candied lemon peel, tangerine oil, white flowers and marzipan are all dialed up. This is an especially deep, vinous style typical of the Côte des Bars. A touch of reduction adds an idiosyncratic character, but is also at the limit for my own personal taste. No dosage. This is the generic Bordeaux from the Domaine Clarence Dillon. When they first told me about this, I thought it was probably not the best idea in the world, but the quality of the wine speaks for itself. I think they have been right on the money with what they have achieved with this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and a little Cabernet Franc. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of Graves-like scorched earth, charcoal and blackcurrants, this wine is dense, medium-bodied, quite supple and rich. Despite its precociousness, it clearly has capacity, with this depth and structure, to age 7-10 years.Inc. GSTSG$671.22 -

Drink 2027-2045.In BondSG$681.00 -

No dosage. Disgorged: November 2023; multiple disgorgements throughout the year.In BondSG$710.00 -

(12x75cl) 2012Wine Advocate (88)
This is the generic Bordeaux from the Domaine Clarence Dillon. When they first told me about this, I thought it was probably not the best idea in the world, but the quality of the wine speaks for itself. I think they have been right on the money with what they have achieved with this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and a little Cabernet Franc. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of Graves-like scorched earth, charcoal and blackcurrants, this wine is dense, medium-bodied, quite supple and rich. Despite its precociousness, it clearly has capacity, with this depth and structure, to age 7-10 years. In BondSG$497.00 -

The 2016 Clarendelle Blanc is a tasty white to drink now and over the next year or two, while the citrus and floral notes remain fresh. A dollop (10 percent) of Muscadelle adds midpalate weight and a lovely exotic flair. Best of all, the 2016 should be a terrific value. In BondSG$345.00 -
