Vinous - Neal Martin (86-88)The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge has a well-defined, Pommard-like earthy bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and blue fruit tones. It's quite dense toward the finish and just needs a little more amplitude. |

Wine Advocate (95)The 2013 Criots Bâtard Montrachet Grand Cru has an intense and mineral bouquet that soars – touches of white peach and apricot blossom gently drifting from the glass, flecks of chalk and even white chocolate. The palate is fresh and vibrant, hints of white peach and brioche, oyster shell and citrus peel on the precise understated finish. This will be irresistible. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2015 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, which came in at around 13.5% alcohol, has a lovely nose with scents of lemon curd, apricot blossom and cold limestone, a touch of mango emerging with time. The palate is extremely well balanced with a fine line of acidity. There is energy and tension here, tightening up towards the finish but still persistent in the mouth. This has great potential, a reserved Criots that should spread its wings once in bottle. |

Jancis Robinson (17.5)Bottled. A little more subdued on the nose than the Bâtard-Montrachet. But more intense on the palate. Deeper, creamier and more opulent and still with the right balance between zippy fruit and creamy oak. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (93-95)The 2023 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru takes time to unfurl touches of walnut and smoke infusing its citrus fruit notes in the glass. The palate is well balanced, very smooth and slightly creamy in texture with discrete hints of praline and white chocolate. This lingers long in the mouth. It's a beautifully crafted Criots, though I prefer the 2022 at this stage. |

Wine Advocate (95)Aromas of clear honey, blanched almonds and pear mingle with hints of citrus blossom and orange oil, introducing the 2018 Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, elegantly textural wine that's supple and enveloping, with lovely depth and dimension at the core, underpinned by lively acids. Long and perfumed, this is an elegant, expressive Montrachet from Fontaine-Gagnard. |

Vinous (95)The 2019 Montrachet Grand Cru, of which there is one and a half barrels this year (actually the maximum that the domaine produces), has an intense oyster shell and flinty bouquet, touches of hazelnut and white peach developing with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a very slight reduction on the entry, lively and very concentrated with orange rind and quince towards the finish. The new oak from the half barrel is conspicuous at the moment but that will be integrated with time in bottle. |

Vinous (94)The 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru has an intense nose, quite powerful, maybe the oak a little too present at the moment. The palate is powerful too, touches of tropical fruit infusing the citrus fruit, lightly spiced with a slightly heavy finish. Very fine, but it will require time to absorb the new oak. |

Vinous (92-94)There is just one barrel of 2021 Montrachet Grand Cru this year (normally there is one and a half). It has an intense bouquet, though it doesn't quite have the panache of the Bâtard-Montrachet, a hint of menthol emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a dab of stem ginger on the entry, fine depth, powerful and concentrated with an intense finish. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2022 Montrachet Grand Cru is the only cuvée in two one-year-old barrels. I don't think it needs new oak. There is real energy and complexity here, orange pith and lemon verbena, touches of lemon curd. The palate is beautifully balanced with great depth and power, far more than the Bâtard-Montrachet. It has a beguiling length and precision, velvety smooth, with a hint of walnut on the finish. Divine. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2020 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with dark cherries, blueberry and violet aromas, almost Cote de Nuits-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, veins of blueberry, lightly spiced with white pepper and a touch of clove towards the finish. Great length here. Superb. |

Wine Advocate (92-94+)Opaque purple-black in color, the 2020 Fontenil needs a little swirling and coaxing to release opulent scents of plum preserves, blueberry compote and chocolate-covered cherries, plus suggestions of candied violets, ground cloves and fertile loam. The full-bodied palate is rich with generous black and blue preserves layers, supported by beautifully plush tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long and fragrant. |

Indulge in the exquisite experience of the Fontenil Le Blanc de Fontenil 2020, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Dany and Michel Rolland in the revered French appellation of Fronsac. This white, a rarity in this predominantly red wine region, is a sophisticated blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes, handpicked from 30-year-old vines; exhibiting their wealth of viticultural understanding. This boutique offering energises the palette with harmonious notes of citrus fruits and white flowers, underpinned by minerality delineating the clay-limestone terroir. The winemaking process involved cool fermentation in stainless steel vats to preserve the grapes' striking aromatics. The Fontenil Le Blanc de Fontenil 2020 was then aged in oak barrels for ample months, lending it a rich mouthfeel and balanced structure spotlighting the Rollands' relentless pursuit of perfection. This expression encapsulates the strength of its exceptional vintage and the winery’s dedication to reflecting the quintessence of their prized terroir. |

Burghound (93)(from Les Baudes Basses). Like the Vosne-Romanée “Petits Monts”, there is a hint of mocha to the ripe plum, red berry earth and moderate wood-suffused nose. The rich, full-bodied and powerful flavors possess good if not special mid-palate density as well as solid energy that carries over to the youthfully austere, firm and built-to-age finale that exhibits lovely balance. This is also quite good and a wine that should amply repay extended keeping. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-96)Deep crimson colour. A very lively fruit here, all in red berries. Good tension here, a few drops of a darker fruit but this remains mostly in a bright red profile, fresh but not firm tannins and very good length. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Dec 2024. |
