Maison Les Alexandrins Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2023 epitomises elegance and craftsmanship from the esteemed Northern Rhône region. Crafted from meticulously selected Marsanne and Roussanne grapes, this exquisite white wine benefits from the region’s granite-rich soils, imparting a distinct minerality. Hand-harvested in optimal ripeness, the grapes undergo gentle pressing to preserve their delicate aromas. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, ensuring the retention of vibrant fruit flavours and subtle floral notes. A brief ageing period in French oak barrels adds a nuanced complexity without overshadowing its fresh character. The 2023 vintage showcases a harmonious balance of citrus zest, white peach, and a hint of almond, culminating in a smooth, lingering finish. Maison Les Alexandrins, renowned for their dedication to sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques, delivers a Crozes-Hermitage Blanc that is both refined and expressive. Perfect for pairing with seafood, poultry, or enjoyed gracefully on its own, this wine is a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality. |

Winery note:
The Premier Cru vineyards of Nuits-Saint-Georges are divided into sections.
Damodes is positioned on the north side of the village immediately above Boudots (which sits adjacent to possibly Burgundies greatest premier Cru Vosne-Romanée Malconsorts) and on the border with Vosne-Romanée
The vineyard is on the upper slope with well-draining soil. The wines, whilst clearly made in the style of Nuits-Saint-Georges, show an influence from Vosne-Romanée next door. Notable floral notes and black fruit flavours.

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (95)Great poise and character, these were the years when Malartic was taking a step up, and the 2009 has more than stood the test of time. Supple tannins that have a hidden kick, with a punch of dark fruits layered behind. Great stuff, enjoyable, fresh but confident signoff of concentrated blackcurrant puree and cigar box. |

Vinous - Ian D'Agata (91)Deep ruby-red. Sweet, sexy spice nuances complicate aromas of rich dark plum, cassis and minerals, with a violet topnote providing lift. Dense and suave in the mouth, showing noteworthy sweetness to the unctuous, almost syrupy black fruit and Oriental spice flavors. The finish is long and smooth, with harmonious, lively acidity nicely extending the fruit flavors at the back. There's no hint of green or tough tannins here at all. This very impressive wine, which has turned out much better than it showed during the Primeurs, should age very well. |

Wine Advocate (94)This large estate of 131 acres has been run brilliantly by a Belgian family, the Bonnies since their acquisition a number of years ago. The quality of the white and red have soared to exceptional heights, and this is certainly still one of the more realistically priced wines of Pessac-Lèognan and classified crus. The 2012 is a beauty, with a dense ruby/purple color, a fabulously plush, opulent texture and medium to full-bodied flavors of cassis, spicy earth and blueberry. Quite rich, yet light on its feet, this is an absolutely textbook Pessac-Lèognan, with wonderfully velvety tannins. Drink it now, or drink it in 25 years. This is a brilliant wine. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94+)The 2014 Malartic-Lagravière is a gorgeous wine, but it is also flamboyant and exotic, especially in its flavor profile. Super-ripe red cherry and plum make a strong first impression. Sweet floral and spice notes, along with ripe, silky tannins, add to the wine's sensuality. A rich, powerful wine with soft contours and striking depth, the 2014 is a real beauty. It will be even more compelling once the new oak tannins soften a bit further. The blend is 52 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 % Merlot, 5 % Cabernet Franc and 3 % Petit Verdot. Tasted two times. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (96+)The 2015 Malartic Lagravière is just as fabulous from bottle as it was from barrel. Rich, voluptuous and dramatic, it captures all of the natural intensity of the year. Black cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate, licorice and French oak build into a crescendo of stunning aromas, flavors and textures. This is in an especially dark, sumptuous style, but it all works beautifully. The 2015 was positively thrilling each of the three times I tasted it. |

James Suckling (96)I love the deep and complex nose, in which the cassis and mint of cabernet sauvignon are beautifully married to the more generous blackberry of ripe merlot and the vanilla and toasty notes from the oak are marvelously integrated. On the palate it creeps up on you slowly; the first impression is ripe yet delicate, then the fine-grained tannins charge through and light up the sky. Very long finish. Drink or hold. |
