Wine Advocate (89)This is an opulent, sexy, modern-style St. Emilion possessing deep, super-ripe black cherry and cassis fruit, smoke, and character in a medium-bodied, lush format. It tasted better from bottle than it did out of barrel. The finish is excellent, but with more length, it would have even jumped to the magical 90-point category. Some tannin is noticeable, but this wine is capable of lasting 12-14 years. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (94)The 2019 Rol Valentin showed extremely well from barrel. In bottle, it has retained a gorgeous, pure bouquet of blackberry, spicebox, violet and incense aromas, intense but not overpowering, and the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, yet there is backbone and grip. Focused and velvety-smooth, this is an utterly delicious Rol Valentin, one of the finest I have tasted in recent years. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (88)The 2015 Rolland de By has come together nicely since I tasted it from barrel. There is plenty of both depth and definition to the dark cherry, tobacco and grilled herb flavors. Pliant, supple and inviting, the 2015 will drink nicely for at least the next handful of years. |

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (88)Deep, bright ruby-red. Musky, rather wild aromas of black raspberry, espresso, chocolate, leather and meat. Sweet, soft and stuffed with raspberry, plum and leather flavors. A pliant midweight that finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and lingering notes of leather and pepper. |

Wine Advocate (92)This opulent, sexy 2009 Rouget is composed of primarily Merlot blended with a touch of Cabernet Franc. Sandy, loamy soil notes interwoven with kirsch and Provencal garrigue jump from the glass of this full-bodied, opulent, rich Pomerol. Abundant fruit on the attack, mid-palate and finish characterize this over-achiever. Consume it over the next 15 years. |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (95)The 2017 Rouget is a total knockout. Aromatically explosive, deep and just so compelling in its beauty, the 2017 has so much to offer. A rush of inky dark fruit, lavender, bittersweet chocolate, spice and licorice build as this sumptuous, exotic beauty shows off all of its allure. The 2017 is not at all subtle, but it sure is gorgeous. Rouget was stellar en primeur. It is every bit as impressive from bottle. |
