The 2019 Chapelle d'Ausone is dense, powerful and beautifully layered in the glass. Wild red cherry, plum, exotic spice, dried flowers, mocha, rose petal and espresso are some of the many notes that give the bouquet its beguiling personality. There's real textural intensity and resonance here. As has been the case for some time, Chapelle d'Ausone is superb. If anything, it suffers from the perception of being a 'second wine.' It is that only in name.Inc. GSTSG$1,324.83 -

The second wine of this brilliant château, the 2022 Chapelle D'Ausone checks in as 65% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon that was raised 20 months in barrels. Classic Cabernet Franc notes of black raspberries, currants, spring flowers, candied violets, and sappy mint herbs all shine here, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. While it's not the best vintage for the second wines, you wouldn't know it by tasting this.Inc. GSTSG$314.90 -

Chapelle de la Trinite 2022 exemplifies the pinnacle of Bordeaux craftsmanship. Grown in the esteemed appellation of Margaux, the vineyards benefit from a unique terroir characterised by well-drained gravel soils and a favourable microclimate. Hand-harvested grape varieties, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, undergo meticulous sorting before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, imparting subtle vanilla and spice nuances. The 2022 vintage displays a deep ruby colour, complex aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and hints of tobacco. On the palate, it offers a balanced structure with velvety tannins and a long, elegant finish. Produced by the esteemed family-run estate, Chapelle de la Trinite 2022 is a testament to tradition and exceptional viticulture, making it a distinguished addition to any fine wine collection.

Chasse Spleen continues as the modern, vibrant face of Moulis, with lovely violet edging to the colour.
