Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93+)The 2020 Haut-Bailly II is super elegant and refined, with tons of aromatic nuance and character. Succulent dark cherry, rose petal, dried herbs and menthol lend energy to this super-classy Pessac-Léognan. The energy, precision and nuance here are superb. Perhaps more importantly, Haut-Bailly II does not come across as a wine from a warm year at all. |

Luxuriate in the elegance of Haut Ballet 2012, an exceptional vintage from the renowned vineyards of Haut-Ballet located in the heart of Bordeaux, France. This distinguished bottling exhibits the superior qualities of its terroir and the meticulous craftmanship of its vintners. Intricately sunbathed and cool breezed by the Atlantic, the vines of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon yield a balanced, full-bodied blend exuding ripe blackberry, plum, and subtle oak nuances. Haut Ballet 2012 is a true testament to this artistry, offering a palate of deep red fruit harmoniously intertwined with delicate tannic structure, making it a superb choice for enthusiasts seeking the quintessence of Bordeaux's right-bank blends. Discover the charm of Haut Ballet 2012, a beautiful representation of its vintage, and experience the unmatched sophistication of exquisite French viticulture. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (94)The 2009 Haut-Batailley is statesmanlike and beautifully defined on the nose with mineral-rich black fruit, Cuban cigar and mint aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, clean and precise yet unequivocally backward and almost surly towards the grippy, saline, mineral-driven finish. This is an outstanding Pauillac in 2009 and undoubtedly this is the best bottle that I have encountered. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 2009 Bordeaux tasting. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (92)The 2014 Haut-Batailley has a tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, bilberry, mint and graphite. It is not powerful or showy, much more linear and actually quite discrete. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp blackberry and boysenberry fruit, graphite and cedar, very focused and nicely structured although it clearly requires several years to unfurl. But it conveys energy right on the finish that bodes well for the future. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. |

James Suckling (94)There’s immediate appeal to the nose and palate. Both are bathed in blackberries and dark plums. The tannins are superbly cut and very long and fresh. The oak chimes in with spicy flavors and bolsters plush grape tannins in a harmonious finish. Try from 2022. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (94)The 2016 Haut-Batailley was tasted from two bottles, the first showing a touch of TCA. The second has an airy and well-defined bouquet of blackberry, graphite and subtle floral aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins and very classic in style, displaying impressive grip. I appreciate the substance toward the finish, and the pencil lead lingering on the aftertaste. This is an outstanding Haut-Batailley. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (95)The 2020 Haut-Batailley is another Pauillac that appears to be blossoming in bottle. It has a very complex bouquet with pencil-box-infused black fruit that unfurls gracefully in the glass. Quintessential Pauillac. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, real depth and concentration and plenty of cassis toward the precocious yet controlled finish. Superb.
