  • Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2020 (1x600cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (100)

The 2020 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a total stunner. For the first time I can remember, Les Carmes Haut-Brion marries all of its elements so well that nothing stands out. In the past, the high percentage of Franc and/or the whole clusters were evident. The 2020 is the first modern vintage in which all the elements are so well balanced. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, mint, lavender, dried herbs and incense all build in a ravishing Pessac-Léognan that will take your breath away.

  • Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2021 (12x75cl)

    Vinous (98)

The 2021 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is very possibly the wine of the vintage. Vertical and explosive, the 2021 possesses mind-blowing intensity and dynamic energy to burn. The 2021 is a heady, racy wine that captivates all the senses. Tobacco, mocha, cedar, leather, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and plum saturate the palate in a wine that dazzles from start to finish. The 2021 was bottled in late September 2023, much later than most wines, yet it is so expressive today. It was magnificent from barrel, and it is every bit as breathtaking today. Quite simply, Les Carmes is on another level. Bravo!

    Wine Advocate (100)

The 2022 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is the finest wine bottled to date at this estate under Patrice Pichet's ownership and Guillaume Pouthier's direction. Unfurling from the glass with aromas of violet, iris, dark wild berries, pencil lead and mulberries, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated with a deep core of fruit beautifully framed by velvety, precise tannins, segueing into a long, saline and perfumed finish. Suave and harmonious, it was crafted with 70% whole bunches and matured in 70% new oak. This unconventional blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot represents a turning point for the estate, cementing its rapid ascendancy in the Bordeaux firmament.

  • Les Cerisiers 2015 (6x150cl)
    (6x150cl) 2015

Indulge in the opulence of De Francs Les Cerisiers 2015, a distinctive offering from the illustrious vineyards of Bordeaux's Francs Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Richly textured, this Grand Vin expresses profound notes of ripe red cherries, underpinned with a graceful hint of oak. Born from Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varietals and fashioned through traditional vinification methods, its lively palate speaks to the virtuoso craftsmanship of the Chateau Godard Bellevue, its distinguished producer.

Renowned for their adherence to organic farming principles, the producer curates a wine that is an authentic reflection of the terroir, balancing structure with ample fruit concentration. Maturation in French oak imbues De Francs Les Cerisiers 2015 with enduring complexity and a harmonious finish. An exceptional vintage, the offering is as collectable as it is consumable. Savour De Francs Les Cerisiers 2015, the embodiment of French viticultural excellence.

  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2015 (1x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94)

The 2015 Les Champs Libres has really come together beautifully since I last tasted it. Suave, silky and beautifully textured in the glass, the 2015 speaks to harmony above all else. Aging in barrel has softened the contours nicely in this super-expressive white. Hints of slate, mint, green pear, jasmine and a kiss of French oak are beautifully woven together in a white wine of total class and pedigree. I loved it.

    Vinous - Neal Martin (93)

The 2016 Les Champs Libres, 100% Sauvignon Blanc from three parcels, has a slight reduction on the nose that works well, gradually opening to reveal orange pith and hints of pear. Quite complex and cerebral in style. The palate is well balanced with orange zest and apricot on the entry and a touch of passion fruit. The richness is counterbalanced by a killer line of acidity and a dash of stem ginger on the finish. Just superb.

The 2017 Les Champs Libres marries super-expressive Sauvignon Blanc flavors with notable richness of texture. Dense and resonant in the glass, Champ Libres is another wine in the Guinadeau family's range that bristles with character. Light tropical accents add further shades of dimension.
  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2018 (3x150cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92)

The 2018 Les Champs Libres is a powerful, phenolic white of real substance. White flowers, citrus, chamomile, sage and light tropical notes all open in the glass, but it is the tactile feel of Les Champs Libres that leaves the deepest impression. Here, too, there is a touch of reduction, but all the elements are so finely put together.

  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2019 (6x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (94)

From the Guinaudeau family of Château Lafleur in Pomerol, the 2019 Guinaudeau Vignerons Les Champs Libres Blanc is all Sauvignon raised in new barrels. It's another remarkable white from this team that brings richness and depth as well as freshness, balance, and elegance. Caramelized grapefruits, orange blossom, chalky mineral, and white flowers, as well as hints of green almond, all emerge from this beauty and it's medium-bodied, has good concentration, and racy acidity. It's going to benefit from a year or three of bottle age and evolve gracefully for over a decade.
  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2020 (3x150cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93+)

The 2020 Les Champs Libres is gorgeous right out of the gate. In this vintage Les Champs Libres is quite savory and floral, with the fruit pushed into the background. Dried flowers, mint, sage, white pepper and almonds all open with some time in the glass. Like the Grand Village Blanc, Les Champs Libres comes across as a bit reticent. I love the energy and vibrancy here. Give this time in bottle.

The team at Lafleur makes two whites. The 2021 Château Grand Village is 73% Sauvignon and 27% Semillon, and this will be the first vintage made in the new cellars at Grand Village. It's also the first year where it was vinified at cooler temperatures, which might have resulted in the incredible purity and precision in this beauty. Pineapple, flowers, hints of banana (which I've no doubt will dissipate over the course of its élevage), and chalky, salty notes give way to a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, crystalline white that's well worth seeking out.

I loved it.

  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2016 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (93)

The 2016 Les Champs Libres, 100% Sauvignon Blanc from three parcels, has a slight reduction on the nose that works well, gradually opening to reveal orange pith and hints of pear. Quite complex and cerebral in style. The palate is well balanced with orange zest and apricot on the entry and a touch of passion fruit. The richness is counterbalanced by a killer line of acidity and a dash of stem ginger on the finish. Just superb.

  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2017 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)

  • Les Champs Libres Blanc 2021 (3x75cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (94-96)

The team at Lafleur makes two whites. The 2021 Château Grand Village is 73% Sauvignon and 27% Semillon, and this will be the first vintage made in the new cellars at Grand Village. It's also the first year where it was vinified at cooler temperatures, which might have resulted in the incredible purity and precision in this beauty. Pineapple, flowers, hints of banana (which I've no doubt will dissipate over the course of its élevage), and chalky, salty notes give way to a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, crystalline white that's well worth seeking out.
