The best Pauillac I ever tasted (and this wine has been a revelation ever since they first introduced it), the 2010 from Latour represents 24% of their production. It is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44.5% Merlot and .5% Cabernet Franc. An amazingly opulent, round, delicious wine, and a great buy when they finally release it – assuming it comes in under a three-digit price – it possesses wonderfully silky tannins, classic black currant, cedar wood and forest floor notes, and rich, full-bodied opulence as well as a terrific purity and palate presence. It should drink well for 10-15+ years.Inc. GSTSG$940.06 -

The 2014 Pauillac de Château Latour is a refined and polished wine that expresses the gracious, mid-weight style of the year nicely. Sweet tobacco, cedar, mint, earthiness and wild cherries add aromatic dimension. The 2014 is just starting to enter the early plateau of its optimal drinking window. I would prefer to drink it over the next 7-10 years. In 2014, the Pauillac is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot.Inc. GSTSG$1,747.23 -

The 2015 Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour is a blend of 54.2% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41.7% Merlot and 4.1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sails out of the glass at a fantastic clip, delivering wonderfully fragrant notes of baked blackberries, blueberry compote and redcurrant jelly with hints of licorice, red roses and cigar box. Medium-bodied, generously fruited, open-knit and tantalizingly drinkable right now, the palate is chock-full of expressive red and black fruits, featuring approachable, ripe, soft tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with compelling purity. Sappy and fresh, with a vivid and expressive quality to the blueberry fruit alongside savoury cassis bud. This has plenty of lift, good depth through the mid palate, and retains the graphite kiss and tightly muscular tannins that give appellation signature without needing to wait to being drinking. (6x75cl) 2009Dignified and authentic, the le Petit Caillou 2009 epitomises the exquisiteness of Bordeaux. Crafted in the eminent Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, known for its sedulous adherence to traditional winemaking methods, this wine is the embodiment of French finesse. The merlot and cabernet savignon grapes are scrupulously grown in the nigh religiously revered Médoc region. The robust vinification process accentuates the fruit's natural expressions, whilst the 18-month residence in French oak barrels imparts an irresistible complexity.
Le Petit Caillou 2009 arrests your senses with a voluptuous bouquet redolent of ripe forest berries, entwined with nuanced hints of liquorice and chocolate. The palate is graced with well-balanced tannins, offering a harmonious fusion of profound red fruit and oak flavours. A wine of remarkable ephemerality, the le Petit Caillou 2009 manifests in a graceful, lingering finish. A compelling homage to its storied terroir, its abundant character is sure to enchant the most discerning of palates.

A sleeper of the vintage, the 2003 Le Petit Cheval includes the highest percentage of Cabernet Franc used in this cuvee to date. Composed of 77% Cabernet Franc and 23% Merlot, it displays an incredibly complex nose of sous-bois, freshly chopped porcini mushrooms, blueberries, raspberries and coffee. The beautiful aromatics are somewhat of a let-down once the wine hits the palate, but there is enough fruit, texture and interest to hold the taster’s interest. This lovely second wine may deserve an outstanding rating. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years.Inc. GSTSG$1,389.10 -
