The 2023 Château Doisy Daëne is another ripe, powerful wine, yet it brings a juicy, lively style in its sweet peach, citrus, and orange fruit as well as notes of candied ginger, mint, and sappy floral aromas and flavors. Limpid gold in color, the 2001 Doisy-Védrines offers beeswax, honeysuckle and quince jelly on the nose; hints of gingerbread emerge with time. The oak comes through a bit here, which is odd after two decades. The palate is vibrant and tensile on the entry, delivering the weight one expects from this Barsac, allied with a fine bead of acidity that imparts tension. Tangy marmalade and quince notes appear toward the finish. This is a fine Doisy-Védrines that is à point.Inc. GSTSG$1,079.97 -

One of my favorites of the vintage, the 2023 Doisy-Vedrines is superb, revealing a lively, complex and perfumed bouquet of pineapple, orange zest, spices, honey and ripe orchard fruits, accented by subtle minty nuances. Medium- to full-bodied, generous and enveloping, it remains vibrant and tensile, structured by refined gastronomic bitterness and concluding with a long, ethereal finish that is distinctly Barsac in character. Containing 150 grams per liter of residual sugar, the blend comprises 90% Sémillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.Inc. GSTSG$743.16 -
(12x75cl) 1990Discover the legacy of the exquisite Gilette 1990, a sultry French dessert wine for true connoisseurs. As a product of the famous Gilette winery situated in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux, this exceptional vintage is a testament to the masterful blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Crafted in a uniquely remote microclimate, Gilette 1990 modelled a classic, alluring taste profile by allowing the noble rot, an organically occurring fungi, to concentrate the sugars in the grapes. The result is an opulent, rich wine, revealing luscious peach, honey, and candied citrus notes, harmonised with a tantalising, endless finish.
With almost three decades of maturation, Gilette 1990 maintains impressively high scores in eminent wine publications, earning its status as a beloved icon within the fine wine industry. Together with its distinctive taste, the Gilette 1990 is famed for its scarcity, ensuring that each bottle signifies an unrepeatable experience of refined indulgence.
