(12x75cl) 1998Chateau Le Moulin 1998 is an exquisitely crafted Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, hailing from the reputable winemaking region of Bordeaux, France. The producer utilises traditional vinification methods, using predominantly hand-harvested Merlot grapes, to deliver a robust and complex wine. Aged in French oak for a year, this vintage presents a rich, deep garnet colour, signifying its maturity. It strikes the senses with a delightful bouquet of dark chocolate and ripe red fruits with subtle hints of spice and oak. The well-integrated tannins impart a long-lasting finish. Chateau Le Moulin 1998 has elegantly evolved over the years, with its richness improved by storied complexity. As expected from a wine of its pedigree, it pairs perfectly with robust, meaty dishes. Appreciation for Chateau Le Moulin 1998 goes beyond mere consumption; every sip is a tribute to the meticulous craftsmanship and time-honoured tradition of its producer.

The 2005 Le Moulin is an attractive, mid-weight, yet full mature Pomerol. Sweet dried cherry, herbs, mint, anise and worn-in leather open nicely. I would prefer to finish any remaining bottles sooner rather than later. Le Moulin is not super complex, but it is delicious and has aged well.Inc. GSTSG$1,230.39 -

This wine has such balance and harmony. I remember when it was young and how the new wood and intense fruit came out, but they have finally come together in such a beautiful way. It shows subtle and complex character of plums, cedar, dried flowers, and earth. The texture or mouthfeel is beautiful as you taste it.Inc. GSTSG$1,034.68 -

A sensational effort, and one of the two finest Clinets made before the 2008, this prodigious wine made by the late Jean-Michel Arcaute has always been a sprinter out of the gate. Even at age 19, it continues to strut its stuff. A dense blue/garnet/purple hue exhibits slight lightening at the edge, and the gorgeous nose offers up aromas of sweet blueberries, licorice, smoke, acacia flowers, and camphor. Full-bodied with silky tannins, low acidity, and terrific purity, this 1990 has hit its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for another decade.Release price: ($425.00/case)Inc. The opaque ruby/purple 2005 Clinet offers incredibly fragrant aromatics, an opaque ruby/purple color, and a wonderfully sweet nose of flowers, blackberries, licorice, truffle and caramel. Full-bodied, powerful and rich, it is not as nuanced or complex as the top four or five Pomerols, but close. This is a broad, meaty, masculine, super-rich and concentrated wine, with lavish plum, blackcurrants and blackberries. Drink it five years from now, and over the following 30 or more years.Inc. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London and then later at the château. The 2006 Château Clinet has a nose that appears to have reached maturity. Red berry fruit, red cherries, a touch of fig jam coming through with aeration. It is not as complex as the top tier vintages from Ronan Laborde and his team, yet there is charm in spades. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, grippy in the mouth and with an almost crunchy, cracked black pepper finish that is a little more reserved than I was expecting. I would personally open bottles of the 2006 over the next 10-15 years. Tasted March 2016.Inc. GSTSG$1,214.81 -

I continue to love the 2010 Château Clinet, and I'd say it's just now in the early phases of its prime drinking window. Based on 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, it has the powerful, full-bodied, structured style of the vintage as well as beautiful red and black fruits, spicy wood, tobacco, and graphite-like aromas and flavors. This classic Clinet blossoms with air and it's balanced, has ample structure and well-integrated tannins, and a great finish. I think you can safely open bottles any time over the coming two decades or more. Drink 2025-2044.Inc. GSTSG$2,409.86 -

It reveals a dense purple color as well as an abundance of black cherry, black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice, incense and a touch of camphor. The 2014 Clinet is powerful, deep and enveloping. Black cherry, smoke, graphite, chocolate and French oak give the wine its intensity and gravitas.
