Margaux

Margaux, the largest AOC in Médoc, is a significant wine appellation in Bordeaux with 20 Cru Classé properties from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, more than any other Left Bank AOCs. The region is home to the world-renowned Château Margaux, along with other blue-chip wineries like Château Palmer and Château Rauzan Ségla. Margaux's soils have a high gravel content, offering excellent drainage and low nutrient levels compared to Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. This unique terroir produces refined and elegant wines that are distinct from other regions of Bordeaux.

We are proud to offer a diverse selection of Margaux wines, each with its own unique character and flavor profile. From the rich and powerful Cabernet Sauvignon blends to the silky and smooth Merlot-dominant wines, our Margaux wines are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. Experience the elegance and refinement of Margaux wines today. Browse our selection and discover why Margaux is considered one of the greatest wine appellations in the world.

  • Deyrem Valentin 2021 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (89-91)

The 2021 Deyrem Valentin contains more Cabernet this year at 75% of the blend. This really shows on the nose that is dark in fruit with lifted graphite and cedar aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite fresh, slightly chalky in texture, maybe missing just a little sensuality on the finish. It needs three years to fully absorb the oak. But there is a citrus element to this Margaux that I like, with satisfying length.

  • Du Tertre 1998 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Ian D'Agata (92)

(34% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 33% cabernet franc): Dark red with a hint of garnet at the rim. Complex aromas of dark berries, exotic herbs, clove, cocoa and menthol. At once fat and juicy, with harmonious acidity giving the wine's dark berry, underbrush and cocoa flavors terrific lift. Finishes smooth and dense, with a rich, ripe mouthfeel and excellent persistence. This very successful 1998 avoids the austere side of many other 1998 Bordeaux.

Enters sweet, dense and tactile, displaying ripe dark fruit, tobacco, porcini and mineral flavors of noteworthy precision and cut thanks to harmonious acidity. • Du Tertre 2005 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)

The 2005 du Tertre is a bold, savory wine, as it so often is. Game, scorched earth, licorice, tobacco and dried herbs give this dark, virile Margaux much of its distinctive personality. The 2005 has aged well. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years, before the fruit fully fades, even though there is enough density to allow for aging beyond that. Structurally, du Tertre is a bit lighter than most Margaux in 2005.

  • Du Tertre 2016 (6x75cl)

    Wine Enthusiast (95)

Made by the same team as Giscours, this is a fine wine. Its rich structure combines with acidity and dense, plummy fruit to give a wine that charms now but is sure to age well.

  • Du Tertre 2017 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92)

The 2017 du Tertre is a very pretty wine. Succulent red cherry, dried flowers, mint, blood orange and spice notes meld together in a pliant, mid-weight Margaux that will drink well right out of the gate. This is an especially elegant vintage for a property that often leans towards a wilder style. The 2017 is one of the prettiest recent Tertres I can remember tasting.
