Jeb Dunnuck (97)The medium ruby 2022 Pinot Noir Cuvee Annabelle comes from a very exposed site along the West Sonoma Coast and boasts a fantastic and spicy nose of gravelly rich earth, Asian spice, cranberries, cinnamon, and bergamot. The palate is packed with tension and salty freshness, with a muscular structure and a great finish. A burst of sweet red/purplish berry fruit makes a strong first impression in a bold yet mid-weight Sonoma Coast Pinot that offers tons of immediacy and pure pleasure. Best of all, the Rivina can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Ceritas sources grapes from the Red Car Estate in Fort Ross-Seaview for this wine. It will be interesting to see where the Rivina goes in coming years. There is a feeling of density that is super intriguing. |

Vinous (94)The 2018 Pinot Noir Elliott Vineyard is one of the more nervous, edgy wines in this lineup. Readers will want to give it a few years to soften, as it is reticent and tightly wound in the early going. Bright mineral and savory notes drive a core of sweet red berry fruit. When I taste the 2018 I think of a lyric tenor voice that, while maybe not big in size, has the resonance to be heard all the way in the cheap seats. The Elliot is a cool, introspective Pinot that will reward those who can spend some time with it. |

Jeb Dunnuck (96)A bright straw yellow hue, the 2022 Chardonnay Zephyr comes from the coastally influenced region between Bodega Headlands and the Sebastopol Hills, where cool coastal air envelops the vines. The soils provide shallow, exposed topsoils, slowing the vine's maturation and extending the growing season. The grapes develop thicker skins, which has resulted in producing a striking and savory wine. In the glass, the wine opens with nuanced reductive and flinty aromas that give way to notes of wet stone, almond skin, white peach, saline, and fresh flowers. The palate offers a medium-bodied frame, concentrated richness of extract, and notable structure, with lasting notes of lemon balm through a long and rounded finish. It deserves a few years in cool cellars and will begin to show its best in the next several years. Drink 2026-2038. |

Compared to the Mindego Ridge, it shows a darker and more savory profile. On the nose, it’s layered and complex with notes of wild raspberries, fresh pine, fresh roses, and sea spray. The palate has a more angular structure, with medium body, crunchy, ripe tannins, refreshing, snappy acidity, and a chalky, mineral texture.
