Vinous - Neal Martin (95)The 2016 Guiraud has a very attractive, complex bouquet of lemon curd, orange blossom and light lanolin aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a spicy opening. This feels concentrated and harmonious, delivering good grip and a tangy marmalade-driven finish that begs you back for another sip. Excellent. Jeb Dunnuck (96)The 2022 Château Guiraud is beautiful, with the ripe, powerful style of the vintage. Honeyed orange, white flowers, peach, and some minty nuances all shine here, and this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a lush, layered, seamless mouthfeel, and a good sense of freshness that keeps it light on its feet. It's a brilliant Sauternes to drink over the coming two decades or so. The blend is 65% Semillon and 35% Sauvignon, raised in barrels. |
