A beautifully layered and subtly yeasty nose reflects notes of poached pear and apple, Meyer lemon and pretty floral hints. The complexity of the nose can also be found on the palate of the rich and generously proportioned medium weight flavors that are supported by firm but fine mousse on the dry but not austere finale. Like many 2012s, this is fleshy and round but here, it manages to retain a certain stylish grace. For my taste, this could be enjoyed now or held for another 5-ish or so years. Azelia's 2010 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is incredibly polished in this vintage. Dried roses, crushed berries, tobacco, mint and spices are woven together in a fabric of nearly indescribable class and elegance. The 2013 Barolo Bricco Fiasco shows exceptional balance in this terrific vintage. The wine starts slowly but increases in a steady upswing of intensity and complexity as it takes on air in the glass. This vineyard located in Castiglione Falletto was planted in the 1940s, and the vines are now 80 years old, on average. They are at their production prime, especially when it comes to the nuanced and finessed fruit produced. The soils here show a larger percentage of sand compared to neighboring Serralunga d'Alba, and the wine is more fruit forward and elegant as a result. The bouquet offers pressed rose, violets and warm autumnal notes. Only 6,300 bottles were produced. This is a terrific wine.Inc. GSTSG$1,175.94 -

The 2014 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is a typical wine for the vintage. The 2015 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is another attractive, perfumed wine in this range. Iron, smoke, blood orange, kirsch and orange peel are all nicely delineated throughout. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2015 has enough drive, depth and sinewy tannin to support two decades of very fine drinking. Time in the glass allows the fruit to emerge, but the 2015 remains reticent and in need of time to be at its very best.Inc. GSTSG$1,787.43 -

The 2016 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is a glorious wine. Sweet red cherry, mint, iron, rose petal and blood orange are some of the many aromas and flavors that grace this exquisite, beautifully layered Barolo. A wine of subtlety, nuance and grace, the 2016 has so much to offer. I don't remember ever tasting a Bricco Fiasco with this level of finesse and nuance. Two thousand sixteen is the first vintage in which the Bricco Fiasco is aged part in cask and part in barrique. All I can say is: Wow!In BondSG$621.00 -

The 2017 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is bright and effusive from the very first taste. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit, orange peel, spice and mint all grace this nervy, mid-weight Barolo. Medium in body and translucent, the 2017 has quite a bit to offer. It is an especially savory, linear Barolo. In BondSG$506.00 -

The 2018 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is light, washed out and lacking in both depth and complexity. There is just not much here, sadly. Faded color and dried out fruit are impossible to look past.In BondSG$764.00 -

Rather exotic nose, offering earthy, ripe strawberries, together with fruity spice, smoked mackerel and wild, foresty notes. Medium-to full-bodied with a compact palate of complex flavors and lightly firm tannins. Not big, but plenty of interesting twists. Really good for the vintage. Best from 2024.In BondSG$840.00 -

The 2007 Barolo Margheria was raised in cask and reveals a slightly more classic side of Nebbiolo. Sweet floral herbs, tobacco, geranium and wild flowers emerge from the bouquet. The firm yet well-integrated tannins frame a core of fruit loaded with Serralunga character, leading to a wiry, muscular finish. Hints of leather, licorice and iron linger in the glass. The Margheria is less immediate than the Bricco Fiasco at this stage, and it will require more patience, but it is every bit as compelling. In BondSG$895.00 -
