A perfect wine, that seems to have gone from one strength to another since I first tasted it, the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 1 is absolutely amazing wine. It was aged 21 months in 87% new French oak, finished at 15.3% alcohol and was another abundant vintage, as this lot produced 850 cases, which is even more than 2012 and slightly less than 2003 and 2014. The wine has an inky purple color, a gorgeous nose of graphite, blueberry liqueur intermixed with cassis, blackberry, espresso roast, chocolate and graphite. Dense and incredibly intense with good acidity (slightly lower pH than the 2012, reflected in the character of the wine), fabulous purity and a finish that goes on for close to 50+ seconds. This could well turn out to be the greatest wine ever made at the Louis Martini Winery and that is saying something. It has at least 30-50+ years of aging potential and is clearly a compelling effort from this historic and iconic winery in Napa.Inc. GSTSG$494.75 -

(from Montmains proper). This is aromatically similar to the straight Chablis with the addition of pretty floral top notes. The finer, and not quite as fleshy, medium-bodied flavors exude more evident minerality on the nicely energetic flavors that deliver fine length on the balanced finale. From another court-noué-impacted parcel that produces relatively small yields—35 hectoliters per hectare, to be precise—the 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Séchets is exhibiting notes of white flowers, lemon peel and beeswax mingling with oyster shell. It is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and racy, with a long, pungently intense finish. Together with Butteaux Vieilles Vignes, it’s one of the highlights of Michel’s premiers crus.Inc. (from vines between 35 and 50 years of age evenly divided between parcels of Mélinots, Châtains and Roncières). A touch of reduction blurs the nuance of the markedly more floral-suffused nose that reveals additional notes of shellfish and just sliced citrus. The sleek, well-detailed and more refined middleweight flavors aren’t as powerful or rich yet I like the balance and overall sense of harmony. This understated effort is a Vaillons of finesse.Inc. The grapes are fermented and matured in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and purity, rebuffing the use of oak barrels. The outcome is a beautifully balanced wine with a vivacious acidity, long-lasting minerality, and delightful notes of citrus and white flowers.
The Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Montmain 2021 exemplifies the legendary terroir of Chablis, rendering it a discerning choice for sophisticated wine enthusiasts. This is an exceptionally refined wine which savours the family’s commitment to producing distinguished wines.

Burghound (88)
(from Montmains proper). This is aromatically similar to the straight Chablis with the addition of pretty floral top notes. The finer, and not quite as fleshy, medium-bodied flavors exude more evident minerality on the nicely energetic flavors that deliver fine length on the balanced finale. This appealingly dry but not really austere effort could also use better depth so a few years of cellaring should be beneficial. In BondSG$305.00 -

Together with Butteaux Vieilles Vignes, it’s one of the highlights of Michel’s premiers crus.In BondSG$289.00 -
Burghound (91)
(from vines between 35 and 50 years of age evenly divided between parcels of Mélinots, Châtains and Roncières). A touch of reduction blurs the nuance of the markedly more floral-suffused nose that reveals additional notes of shellfish and just sliced citrus. The sleek, well-detailed and more refined middleweight flavors aren’t as powerful or rich yet I like the balance and overall sense of harmony. This understated effort is a Vaillons of finesse. In BondSG$315.00 -
(8x75cl) 2017Vinous (95)
The 2017 Chablis Grenouilles Grand Cru is very precise and lifted. Bright citrus and floral notes give the 2017 its airy, effortless feel. The 2017 offers superb persistence and tons of class in a super-classic expression of Chablis. White pepper, jasmine and pear add character to the finish. This is such a beautiful and precise wine; it is so lifted and so unique. I love the perfume here.In BondSG$1,055.00
