Wine Advocate (96)This is profound! 2008 Haut-Brion: The extraordinary 2008 Haut-Brion is a candidate for -wine of the vintage.- Composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, it reveals more evolution and complexity in its large-scaled perfume. The dense purple color is followed by a sweet nose of creosote, asphalt, blueberries, black currants and jammy raspberries, sweet tannins, a savory, fleshy mouthfeel and a stunning finish. This incredibly pure, noble wine was produced from one of the estate's smallest crops (only 7,000 cases produced versus the usual 12,000 cases). It should drink well for three decades or more. |

Wine Advocate (100)A blend of 50% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Haut-Brion is reticent to begin, languidly revealing crushed black cherries, ripe black plums and wild blueberries with sparks of cinnamon stick, cloves, nutmeg, espresso, unsmoked cigars, tapenade, crushed rocks and lavender. The full-bodied palate possesses wonderfully complementary contrasts of bold black and blue fruit richness and delicately nuanced cherry fruit, baking spices and floral accents, strutting ripe, finely pixelated tannins and seamless acidity that is placed firmly in the background, finishing very long and with plenty of attitude. This impeccably poised, exquisitely perfumed 2015 Haut-Brion possesses the most alluring yet seemingly effortless beauty. While it bears only a passing resemblance in its opulent personality to the now legendary 1989, like that vintage the 2015 cannot fail to hedonically satiate and intellectually edify all lovers of great Bordeaux who drink it. What’s more, it also has the blue-blooded tenaciousness to remain this jaw-droppingly impressive, throughout its many guises over time, and for a very, very long time. |

The Wine Independent (100)Composed of 56% Merlot, 37.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6.5% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Haut-Brion is deep garnet in color. The nose beings with simple licorice notes before slowly unfurling to deliver growing scents of creme de cassis, plum preserves, dark chocolate, and lilacs, followed by suggestions of crushed rocks, tar, black truffles and cardamom. The full-bodied palate is a tightly coiled spring, taut with black fruit preserves and earthy layers and framed by very firm, grainy tannins, delivering a burst of freshness to carry the long, long, long finish. This will need a good 7-10 more years to fully blossom, and it will be well worth the wait. |

Tim Atkin MW (95)This cru produced about 35 hl/ha in 2019 but only 12 hl/ha in 2020. The allocation fight is sure to be grim. This, like the Clos des Porrets St-Georges, is more rustic than in recent vintages with the full body packed with concentration and extract and hemmed in by gravelly tannins. The acidity, however, is fresh and vivacious. Smoky, meaty and sultry with mulberry and black plum flavors, this will be a treat down the road. 2027-40 |

The Real Review (98)Deepish red colour with just a trace of purple in its rim, the bouquet is pungent raspberry, squashed overripe raspberry, classic Mt Edelstone. The wine is succulently fruit-sweet: gorgeously extravagant fruit floods the palate. It's almost jammy, the fine but persistent tannins just pulling it together on the finish so the aftertaste and follow-through are clean and balanced and refreshing. Lush fruit flavour, astonishing texture, very old-viney, a very impressive Edelstone. A stand-out vintage for this wine. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Millandes 1er Cru comes from vines over 70 years old and was cropped at 45hl/ha, the first vineyard to be picked in order to moderate alcohol. Containing 100% whole bunch, it has an intense bouquet of pine-needle-infused red and black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, and a little tarry toward the finish. Wine Advocate (95)The golden-yellow colored 2014 Gewurztraminer Vendange Tardive is very clear, precise and elegant on the nose that represents a perfect selection of botrytis, but it's also a fruit-fly vintage that always causes a kind of irritation. Ripe peach and sage aromas intertwined with flinty notes on the intense nose lead to a palate that is rich, sweet and savory as well as elegant and saline, finishing highly stimulating despite the richness. Bottled with 11% stated alcohol and 94 grams per liter of residual sugar, this is a long-distance runner. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024. |

Vinous (89-91)Stony, complex nose features white flowers, mint, quinine, lemon and lime. Rich and dense, with a dusty sense of minerality. As stony as this riesling is, it not at all hard. Finishes very long, with a whiplash of flavor. This comes across as dryer than the Tradition even though it's carrying a few more grams of sugar (10, vs. 7, with the same 13.2% alcohol), due to its stronger mineral character and higher acidity. Will be long-lived. |

Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (98)This is intense, with vivid textures and flavours coming in waves. Creamy, enticing, mouthwatering, it bounces through the palate, first crushed raspberries and sour cherry, then orange peel, turmeric spices and roses, with supple tannins and a drawn out finish. Joyful. Vinified in stainless steel, native yeast aged in oak barrels and 10% ceramic jars for the first time this vintage, followed by 14 months in bottle before release. Halliday Wine Companion (95)“Matured in French hogsheads (28% new) for 18 months. While the wine still has a long way to go, some of the tannins have softened, and hints of violets and gentle spices add to the bouquet. It should really open up as it nears its 10th birthday.” |

Perhaps the most peppery of the domaine’s wines. I can see this aging beautifully. |

The Wine Independent (98)Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2010 Hosanna storms out with earthy notes of crushed rocks, tar, and truffles, leading to a core of black cherry compote and plum preserves with hints of star anise and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate delivers loads of savory and mineral layers and ripe, rounded tannins, finishing with great length and precision. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (97)The 2016 Hosanna has a classy bouquet of delineated black fruit laced with cedar, tobacco and ferrous notes. The medium-bodied palate features supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and lovely spiciness toward the finish. There is impressive cohesion here and wonderful length, completing a seriously impressive Hosanna that appears to be improving in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a vivid bouquet with red cherries, cranberry and violet scents, actually, quite Vosne-like in personality. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, quite poised and tense with a dash of spice on the finish. This is a delicious Chambolle that should give 12-15 years' drinking pleasure. |

Wine Advocate (100)Sporting an opaque garnet-purple color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard needs a fair bit of coaxing to unlock fabulously evocative notions of pure cassis, ripe, juicy black plums and wild blueberries, plus suggestions of candied violets, cinnamon stick and fenugreek, with a touch of fallen leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is packed with poise and sophistication, shimmering with energetic black and blue fruit layers and a perfectly plush texture, finishing with a dazzling display of minerals and floral fireworks. A hands-down, jaw-dropping beauty! |

Wine Advocate (100)Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Wraith opens with compelling crème de cassis, wild blueberries, anise, chocolate mint and black earth scents plus suggestions of candied violets, cinnamon stick, tar, cigar box and smoked meats. Full-bodied, rich, super firm and built like a brick house, the palate offers layer upon layer of very tightly wound, subtly nuanced flavors leading to a very long, very perfumed and minerally finish. If any Hundred Acre wine can live for 100 years, this is certainly a contender. |

A vintage where the variations in night and day temperature were extreme, allowing for long slow ripening. |

Wine Enthusiast (98)Pressed rose, forest berries, crushed mint and dark spice are front and center on this fragrant, stunning red, which also has whiffs of new leather. Showing the estate's hallmark of finesse and structure, the delicious palate delivers crushed raspberry, ripe Morello cherry, baking spice and licorice framed in tightly wound, refined tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced. This is one of the few 2017s that show some serious aging potential. Drink 2025–2037. |
